'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

I don't think he's going to commit until NSD myself. Could come before but I think he holds out. Especially if he has official visits left for schools. I think he wants to catch a few games of his main schools of interest.

His plan is to commit and enroll in December since he is a midterm enrollee. He will take his official visits to games and in early December.

Newberg is a giant FSU homer. Akers may end up there but I take anything he says with a grain of salt.

I'm sure a lot of the guys making a prediction are homers to some school. I'm not sure being a homer influences their decisions much. I mean I doubt they just CB everyone to their preferred school because their % and days right would plummet. I'd guess most at least try to be objective and take the homer votes out of it to boost their ranking.

...and I stated earlier that a recommit is rare. Some have a hard time reading.

I read what you said after I posted. Sue me, I ate lunch and missed it.. Jesus people get touchy about this 'cruitin stuff..

And bt the way, I agree, the recommit is rare, but it happens... .

Im holding out on any big time recruits we have been in on and their "decisions" until we play about 8-10 games. This is a very what have you done for me lately society we're in and we have a chance to really make some noise and swing some guys in our favor in the next few months. Gotta show results and production and be one of the "it" teams now that we cant promise instant playing time anymore.(though in akers situation we can probably promise that as well with hurd and kamara having possible and probable early exits)

That's what the definition of homer is. When as a recruiting analyst, they predict a player to go to the school they write for and then they end up wrong. Like how Newberg predicted Kongbo to FSU and the Auburn 247 people predicted they would get Warrior.

But are they always wrong? I mean Akers did just visit FSU. Maybe Newberg had reason to make the prediction? I'm just saying it wouldn't really benefit them in any way to be a homer and predict every recruit is going to their school. Their prediction ranking would be a disaster.

Did I say it was possible that Akers might still end up in Tallahassee?
