Actually it's not. Derrick Brown's strong relationship with one of Auburn's assistants was too much to overcome. Pretty sure everyone knew he was Auburn bound from the start.

Brown was coming to Tennessee, he ran into a bit of an issue before committing.

FYI, Akers and Coach G are extremely tight. They talk almost every day. Strong relationships with certain coaches always help even if the HC is getting close to being on the hot seat.

It's pure speculation at this point. Honestly I think the FSU stuff is getting way blown out of proportion. Notice how none of the experts didn't give us a chance until close to his announcement. Aker's family is playing extremely close to the vest and has played the recruiting game about as good as you can get. Remember, he's very close to Coach G and some of our future teammates. Don't ever sell Butch short when it comes to recruiting.

I would love to roll with that, but I just can't. I mean..I think we have a shot just because of G, but G knows as well as us that he he can't guarantee he will be here for the duration of Akers college career. If he is tight with them, I would assume he is honest with them. So we will see how good he is at selling Cam on being at UT whether he is here or not. That Tennessee is the right place for him. If he lands Akers somebody better back up the truck and pay the man. I'm sick of losing guys like him and Rodney Gardner to rival teams, because we won't do what it takes to keep them.
