Not glossing over anything. Those are nice players but YOU want to gloss over the fact that they aren't enough. To compete, Jones needs half or more of his class to be that caliber... and especially since he doesn't seem to actually be any good at coaching.

Most of the time it is just like me arguing with my brothers. There are six of us, plus three BILs. We are just a bunch of good natured idiots. I'm not seriously mad most of the time. We call each other names, and trash talk each other just in fun.

Having only skimmed most of the last few pages, not sure if this has been posted or is known by many...This kid has a cousin who played for UK, and we've shown some attention to another cousin in the 2018 class. If not for that, not sure why he'd pick UK. Yeah, we have good momentum, but oh well. A get is a get.

Yeah it's been discussed. Our Rivals guys said as of last night it was Tennessee, but the offer to the younger cousin was what sealed the deal for UK. I believe the cousin is a 5-9 190lb OLB, which would be a waste of a scholarship. UK needs to make that play to compete with the likes of Tennessee and Michigan State in football recruiting, so it's a good get but one that likely cost you guys two scholarships.

For purposes of INSTATE RECRUITING, they're "enough" to negate this fiction that we got destroyed. 3 of the top 5 wants. I'm with others that their eval of Phillips is off, but waving at him as he goes elsewhere isn't even remotely a FAILURE. Missed on two wants IN THE STATE. As far as the coaching? You've already decided on that...I haven't. Way too many examples of coaches being genius AFTER they get the right assistants teaching their players. Jimmy Johnson wasn't a brilliant X's and O's guy. Got outcoached in two straight NC opportunities (us and Penn State) where he had superior talent. In the pros, he went 180 in success after the OC switch from David Shula to Norv Turner. Working past stubbornous isn't unique in coaching history. Butch will have to accomplish that feat.

I don't care if we have to hire the whole family as assistant coaches. UK needs all the help it can get. If the coaches believe in this kid, then do what ya can to compete.

Is Corker worth two spots to us?..HELL NO. I do agree that the staff should have known that this kid was fishing, that would have freed them up to spend their time better elsewhere. Surely they knew somebody would be desperate enough to offer a deal like this.

Different discussions, whether about recruiting or just the program in general wind up leading to what happened in 2016, just the way it is on a message board. And unfortunately, if you're discussing 2016, it's impossible to talk about it without discussions about goals not met because of the losses to SCar and Vandy. Some wanna dive into it and talk about what went wrong, while others want to put it in the rear view and discount it as water under the bridge. I suspect both sides want what's best for the program in the long run.

No, I agree. From UK's perspective, I agree you have to take that risk. I'd have been disappointed if we had offered the cousin to land Corker, but I think it is justified for UK.

Me too. My only gripe with the coaches is they should have been cognizant of this and went another direction weeks ago. He cost us valuable time and resources.
