'17 GA CB/S Shawn Shamburger (UT signee)

Yeah, but it was the fight with the hooker that bit his tongue, that slowed his roll.

Look, it's the love child of Johnny Knoxville and Willem DeFoe.....

I don't care. If he is gonna double my order of Sham Wows for the same price then I don't care what the dude looks like.

Have to question any list without Tuttle listed? If this is close concerning the CB position, its no wonder so many are projecting Byrd's move to defense.

I don't put any stock in an article that projects a freshman as a starter, unless that freshman happens to be a consensus 5 star.

They don't expect Tuttle to be available for the season opener. This is projected 2 deep for Georgia tech

Yeahhhhh... Berry is not going to be our No.2 at Mike. It also seems-- according to what Reid said-- that Sapp is a starting OLB. Now, whether that is in a base 4-3 set or he is our WILL idk.

That 2nd team is much more athletic.

Looking at this are we better suited personnel wise for a 3-4 defense (Alabama)?

DE Kyle Phillips
NG Kahlil McKenzie
DE Jonathan Kongbo
JACK Darrell Taylor
SLB Austin Smith
MLB Darrin Kirkland Jr
WLB Cortez McDowell
CB Justin Martin
SS Todd Kelly Jr.
FS Nigel Warrior
CB Micah Abernathy (move back to corner)
STAR RaShaan Gaulden

Just based off that personnel, I'd say yes

In the one deep up front, it seems like it.But depth would be big issue for the front, IMO.

McKenzie and Johnson are the only DTs we have with NG size (though if they keep Mosley there he could probably play NG if the emphasis was on eating blocks and holding ground). Smith and Taylor could probably fit that OLB spot well and Bituli might be able to play there also, but who do we have there after that?

As things stand, we have some DEs that can slide inside and play the 3 technique in a 4-3 in a pinch. But we also have some smaller DTs like Picou and Vickers (along with most of the freshman we're bringing in there) who wouldn't really fit most 3-4 schemes very well at all.

I know this is all hypothetical, but it's fun to think about. A great 3-4 DC (like Aranda at LSU) who is willing to adapt his scheme to the pieces he has to work with could probably make it work. Not sure most DCs could take our defense and have them playing a 3-4 at a very high level year one though.
