"It was a decision made by me and my mom that is simply best going forward for me and my future," Ignont wrote in a text message.
Ignont, a 6-foot-2, 238-pound Alabama and Auburn target, transferred to IMG in January after his first season as a full-time linebacker for Buckhorn. He recorded113 tackles, including six for a loss, and he had 300-plus yards rushing and six touchdowns. Ignont was a 1,000-yard rusher as a sophomore.
Ignont tweeted on April 2 that his top-10, in order, are: Georgia, Auburn, UCLA, Michigan, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Florida and Miami.
"Momma knows best," Ignont told WHNT 19. "I didn't always listen to her or I felt like I knew everything. But really just being down there and being away from her made me realize how special of a woman that I do have. And you only get one mom. So this made me cherish her and cherish the moments that I have with her."-AL.com
