I'll have to disagree on AJ getting off blocks that's one reason he made those tackles so far from the line he was talking about. He's attacked ball carriers and Qb's more in one year than AJ did altogether. Never was a fan. AJ had what one sack or something like that? Love DK.
Their players receive the best coaching this side of a college campus.
If they had to play a schedule like Miami central, booker t or any top Miami Hs, that record and those individual rankings wouldn't be so high.
Have to be careful of kids who have been tremendously coached up at a young age. They always look better than their counterpart scholastic player who is as talented as them. later on the playing field evens out
When it all shakes out in a couple years, that team is not as good and their players aren't what people are hyping them up to be
Think along the lines of say a Dillon Bates ...
Sorry for derailing the thread because I do Like Ignont a ton.
He has been in on all of our other top guys tho. LB recruiting has been bad for sure.
I agree that is the best talent group for sure but that group is getting gashed on the ground. Just seems like it's worth trying 4-3 and Bynum to me.
ran into one of his coaches today at the gas station on my way home and he was headed to north jackson. He said he is a good character kid who has made minor mistakes like any other kid. Also said he has only been playing lb for 2 years now. I asked him about the bad weight that i have read earlier in the posts and he said the kid has no bad weight. Said about a 32 waist but is very strong in his upper body. He also said he is 110% sure he will stick with the vols. He comes from a great family and is a head hunter with great instincts. That's about all i got while we was standing in line checking out.
I hope that is what it is and he truly is interested in playing here, because I am always a little hesitant to recruit a player from Alabama that has legit offers from Alabama and/or Auburn.
And if they do not have legit offers from them, I wonder if they are that good.
Tennessee landed one of its top remaining targets at a position of need Wednesday night when Will Ignont pulled the trigger just about three weeks after rekindling interest in the Vols.
So, how did it happen so quickly?
From what we understand, Tennessee gives Ignont his two most important attributes he's looking for; early playing time and close to home. LSU was a realistic option because of his connections to Louisiana, but with no head coach in place and time ticking on how long the linebacker spot would be open at Tennessee, Ignont decided he had seen enough.
Tommy Thigpen put in a lot of time over the last three weeks convincing him Tennessee was the best option as Auburn was still in the mix as well, but Ignont looked at that situation and felt like it would take longer to see the field.
Tennessee looks to be done at that position unless a big-time guy decides to want in or they lose two commitments.
