'16 TN LB Tim Hart (FORMER UT commit 6/26/15)

The state is consistently producing 10-15 P5 talents per year (there's 20 thus far this cycle). Of course we can't rely on a full class of TN prospects but at this point in our talent pool, 10 a year or so are more than able to compete at this level.

There's about 8-10 schools who put in the work recruiting TN this year. They thought it was worth it. The crazy thing is almost all of them currently have classes ranked higher than ours.

I'm having trouble finding the point of your post. Are you implying that Butch & Co., aren't recruiting TN?

For the 2016 class, that is obvious.

Daniel Bituli, Ryan Johnson, and Austin Pope beg to differ.

Edit: They've also offered Joejuan Williams, Bryce Mathews, Donte Vaughn, Dorian Banks, Tylin Oden, Darel Middleton, Dorian Banks, Gabe Angel, Nygel Edmonds, Ikenna Okeke, Nate Johnson, Emmitt Gooden, and several others I'm sure.

Yeah, you're right. Too bad they aren't recruiting TN...

When we have 4 NC's in 7 years the gitshirts are easier to overcome with future kids. Kids will still line up to play for a team winning NC's. If we get to that level it won't be a problem. But you can't act like Bama's situation of getting by with it, is the same as us getting by with it...at this juncture.

Not sure why winning 4 titles makes it better. If you do it, you do it. Period. The fact that we can do it like Bama actually shows you the level we are recruiting. It's the process. Blame it, not the coaches who all play along.

A new DC gives somewhat of an excuse that he may not fit the new scheme. We are just playing with fire. We were practically banned from Tampa HS because of Ford incident but Scott hiring opens doors. Someone pissed off a lot of people in midstate that Butch had to clean up and now bring on Shoop to forgive and forget. Now Memphis will have us on their blacklist again no matter if there are 2 sides to story. Memphis HS coaches only listen to the player side especially when talking TN.

At the end of the day, we weren't in some desparate need for Lbs this class so I don't understand why the heck we even took his commit in first place. We would have been fine with just 1 LB commit in Bituli who was wrapped up behind closed doors well before this commit. there wasn't any reason to take a stretch commit

Or he tried to and that's when he realized his offer and commitment was no longer going to be honored.

I think the real question is, why didn't you just ask Freak for your PW if you forgot it instead of making a whole new account?

Unless you were trying to mislead everyone...but that would be shady and dishonest.

Justin Timberlake's from Memphis, right? I'd like to dedicate "Cry me a river" to this thread. Seems fitting.

Is this the right one?

I found an exclusive video of Tim finding out he can only blue shirt

I hope these posts slow down after signing day. I have been on here for a few years and have enjoyed it. But I am not sure I can take the same subject in every thread.

Says the guy likely never offered a college scholarship. Easy to say man up when it's not you

Your feelings hurt. Sometimes life isn't fair. You either stay down or you get back up. You don't have a clue about me nor do I you. I am sure you were everybody's all American and had your choice of schools.

Just because we want an in state prospect doesn't mean we automatically get them. Since I have followed recruiting, we haven't consistently recruited West Tennessee well. I will agree the talent level in Middle Tennessee has improved.

If they made it a priority that could change. You can't recruit it once every three years and expect them to be holding the door open for you.

It doesn't make it better. It makes it easier from not biting you in the ass standpoint. You think Butch is gonna keep pulling multiple 5* late in the game if 9 wins is the ceiling? I don't.

I also don't think that's the ceiling so hopefully it's a moot point. The Bama point is they can afford to "burn bridges" cause there are enough kids willing to line up for a NC contender.

Reading is struggling today. I never said or implied we should get everyone we offered. My point is that TN has enough talent these days that we can easily rely on in state players for 25-40% of our class on any given year (assuming they actually come here). The talent is there, that's the point.

First, there are DEFINITELY two sides to the story. You're reacting as if there's only one. Most coaches will have an open mind and accept Butch's explanation, whatever it is. The fact that he never took an OV is very telling. Now, will some coaches with an ax to grind against UT use this as ammo? Absolutely, but if it isn't this it will be something else.

Second, it doesn't matter if you understand why the offer was made in the first place. Maybe there's an underclassman at the school that the staff wants. Maybe a 5-star unexpectedly committed and took his spot. Maybe losing no players to the draft cut the projected numbers. Whatever the reason, Butch saw fit to do so. Considering that he's forgotten more about recruiting and talent evaluation than you'll ever know, I'll side with him.

Since the 80's it has been the same way with very few exceptions. This same argument was had during Fulmer's prime.

Memphis has always been a struggle. This year the whole state looks like a struggle. Butch said he was going to build a fence around the state 3 years ago. This year looks as though Butch may need old Donald Trump to show him how to build a fence.
