that was uncomfortable

Not sure what he projects as but i know Thigpen has been raving about him for a while. He told me after the season the kid would be a VOL and a future 5*. I watched film and talked to him and compared the kid to Hart and Dodson. My problem #1 is that he plays 1A football and is not very dominant at either position he plays. 2. I've seen him in person and a wrestling tournament, the kid is built to part. 3. While kids are out here busting their butts at camps even guys like Joejuan, Bituli doesn't and my reason is because the people around him know he'll be exposed. Imho i think that if you're as good as he's labeled then in 1A aka lil boy ball a guy should be as dominant as Troy Fleming was @ BGA back in his day, or even Derrick Henry(Alabama rb) @ Yulee. Just don't get this from Bituli. He still has a yr to get better and 4 yrs in college but that's my assessment t date.

doesn't it cost money to camp? Trent Thompson didn't camp, and several on here were very critical of him for not doing so....we are hypocrites.

No horn to toot here just speaking on my track record.

De1 - I appreciate the info you share and your assessments. Keep em coming. Also appreciate that you wished the kid luck at UT - we're all wishing he (and all our recruits) become the best they can be on the field and off.

Love how some people bash others opinions, just be sharing their opinion. :eek:lol:

Time will tell, and know one knows. Many players bust, and many overachieve. We'll see

Look man this kid has no where near the legacy and build up that enabled the Berry twins to not camp. For 1 the Berry twins were busy running in Nationals in track during camp season. Bituli was invited to rivals camp and our camp. We extended a invite to camp but ao did several of his team mates who came. Bottom line there's a reason that kids like Joejuan and Nigel Warrior camp and kids like Bituli don't. Kids that want to be great camp to solidify their spot in the national ratings. Kids who know it can hurt them or are scared hide behind a rating. Its a known fact. Richmond, Ugo, Kyle Phillips, etc went to National camps Jalen Ramsey likewise guve me a valid reason why they wouldn't and I'll shut up with that comment. He was invited, why refuse? Like i said i support and hope the kid gets better because i don't want dead weight on our depth charts or roster. I support the VOLS all day everyday. Talk to coaches frequently, and have kids there that want to win and compete for National Championships. So why hate on this kid at all. Its like i said my assessment.

Are you certian he has no other obligations that prevent him from camping?

Anyhow, sports is a full time job now, even at high school, seems a guy can't just relax in the summer for fear other will get better... No more kicking it at the beach all summer long

I mean it's fine. I clearly don't begmy opinion be taken as gold. Just know i called Rod Wilkes, Drae Bowles, the boy scout recruit under Dooley, all as guys who wouldn't ever play a meaningful snap at UT to coaches long before inever started doing this as a job. I was also the person whomtold Jay Graham about Lenny Fournet (sp)(LSU rb) as a true freshman in hs. Recruits are hit or miss and you can't be right on em all.

You obviously don't know the golden rule concerning recruiting.

Negativity concerning a recruited, not yet signed player is allowed.

Negativity towards a committed recruit is pure blasphemy and will be met with extreme prejudice.

Do you not understand that a player can have faults when they are unaffiliated. But as soon as a player is brought into the brotherhood of volnation, they instantly piss fire, crap thunder, and walk on the water.

Get with the program guy.

Nick, you know we have to bash other people because if we try to bash our spouse we'll be unable to see or talk for a few days after they "bash" our faces in. Simple process to understand.
:)

De1's opinion was known before Bituli committed.
I appreciate all the insight and evaluations that he brings. Not all of us are privileged enough to get to work with and get to know these kids on a personal level. Keep the inside info coming De1.

Usage Discussion of IRREGARDLESS
Irregardless | Definition of irregardless by Merriam-Webster

Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

I think it is important to keep the in state talent. The more top in state talent we keep getting will lead to Ole Miss, LSU and others to look harder in other areas.

Hopefully Bituli will be a star for the Vols.

De1 stated his opinion. However, as plugged in as he is he can't possibly know everything about why a recruit camps or doesn't camp. He doesn't know everything about the family dynamic inside every recruits home or what the parents will or will not allow their child to do. I am not saying one way or the other because I sure as heck don't know. De1 stated his opinion with the facts as he knows them. Bituli is a great athlete, he is in shape, and a great wrestler. He doesn't camp for one reason or the other but the coaches saw fit to accept his commitment. We can continue to speculate on here but that is all it will be. Speculation. We will have to see how it all shakes out in the weeks, months, and years ahead. GBFO and congrats to young Mr. Bituli on his commitment to the Vols!

Thanks for your opinions on the questions I ask you.I know you and what you do with these kids in mid-tn is good for the kids. Also De1 you don't have to defend your track record to the legions of the miserable either. I ask you some questions because I value your opinion.

IRREGARDLESS of all the other stuff being talked about in the Daniel Bituli recuiting thread, it was nice to wake up on Sunday morning and have a nice refreshing BOOM.

Welcome to the fam DB.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Brick by Brick!

He'll ride the bench behind DK for a few years, but it sounds like he needs development anyway.

Come in redshirt a yr, DK will be a junior, Daniel a rs freshman. I don't like saying he will rise the pine more like he will add quality depth for a couple years.

sounds a little upset that he doesnt camp with his little training team that he has.

Muschamp/Malzahn, Geoff Collins/McElwain, Manny Diaz/Mullen, Stoops brothers, Grantham/Petrino, John Hoke/Spurrier, Freeze/Wommack, Jones/Jancek, Miles/Steele. Meyer/Fickell and Brian Kelly/Vangorder......Those are all the big time Head Coach/ D-Coordinators that have offered him. I think ill rode with those guys.

I just dont think you are outsmarting all those coaches here on this kid.

It's impossible for schools to evaluate all the kids this early. That's why camps are important for a lot of them.

Schools will extend offers and then continue to evaluate.

With all due respect I hope the negative forum assessments are dead wrong. He's on the team, so....
