'16 TN F Braxton Blackwell

Certainly fair enough.

Over the years in hoops how many Nashville recruits have we gone head to head with Vandy???

How did those end up??

I don't recall very many off the top of my head

Jenkins
Slay
Hathaway
Maddox

Where those hotly contested by both schools??

Again, this discussion is based solely on the idea that this may come down to Vandy vs Tennessee. If it ends up being Tennessee vs Kansas (just as an example), then the move is probably more neutral for us, neither good nor bad.

Vandy has a lot of advantages over UT right now; stability first and foremost, general familiarity with coaches and players, and proximity. The last thing they need in their favor is unmatched accessibility.

Again, if this turns into a UT vs anyone else competition for BB, then we're having a different discussion.

Not sure what is funny here. Vandy is a serious threat, and perhaps even leading for Blackwell.

Folks that think Blackwell is a PF are confused. The Kid handles the ball and passes the ball like a guard and will make his money attacking the basket off of the dribble. He is clearly a wing player

JP Prince was a mismatch at the college game and Pearl's system was drastically different than most but J Prince was a Wing forward that Pearl played at PF

Fair enough, that's the type of player Blackwell current is. Can handle the ball and is a good passer for hid size, his shot however is very inconsistent, and he struggles some laterally against quicker SF's. That's in no way a knock, and he'll likely play both the 3 & 4 wherever he ends up, but right now most scouts view him as more of a 4 because of his lacking perimeter skills. Going to Oak Hill will benefit him, he can play 3/4 instead of the 5 at CPA, because of this he will likely be forced to decide either to bulk up and add some post moves and be a Tyler Smith type of point forward, or refine his perimeter skills, get quicker, find a consistent J to 22 feet, and be a dominant SF.

I would love for Blackwell to end up here and then decide where to play him. As for athleticism he is not close to where JP was coming out of high school. JP played a lot of point and was great at moving laterally and had unbelievable explosion. Although his shot does need a lot of work he is ahead of JP as a shooter at this point. I am basing this on seeing each of them quite a few times.
