'16 TN F Braxton Blackwell

Watch for what Braxton Bonds does. If he stays, then we have a chance. If he does not, we don't. Also, whether or not he gets on scholarship may determine if he stays.

Agreed. I'm ok with the occasional 3* unranked guys who may be projects but have potential, like this Kyle Alexander guy, or big dude Duke is looking at, and I'm definitely good with 3* top 150 guys like the Richardson's etc. But there's no question we need to improve the talent level.

By my count we currently have 2 top 150 players on the roster, I haven't looked, but I would just about guarantee that ranks at the very bottom of the SEC.

Yes. Very bottom.
Billy Kennedy has really surprised me.

I don't think Bonds was getting a scholarship even if Tyndall stayed. Now that Bonds has used his red-shirt year, only thing that would make sense for him would be transferring down a division.

@Ben_Fred: Tennessee hoops assistant coach Chris Ogden stopped by CPA to see Braxton Blackwell on Friday morning. Texas' Shaka Smart has in-home today.

Screw Shaka Smart lol. Glad to see we're communicating with him though. Surely Ogden told him why they couldnt do a visit or anything like that right now. Tyndall really did put us in a crappy situation using everything up!

Very few people on this board understand your post. They just think Barnes is taking long naps because he's not releasing information to volnation on a daily basis.

What im saying is Tyndall used up a lot of our visit days and evaluation days. So... yeah a lot of people probably know what im talking about batman lol.

Limited visits definitely have affected Barnes. There's always two sides to things though. Had CDT still been around, I would be glad he was working hard and trying to cast that wide net to find recruits. However, with him gone now, it's really handcuffed this staff.

Evidently the players that Tyndall was looking at don't appeal to Barnes. With all the visits they used you would think they would have great relationships with a lot of players evidently Barnes didn't like any of them.

As stated Tyndall's goal was a winning season.
Barnes' goal is a tournament appearance.
He has stated that he would only sign players that would contribute immediately.
He's not going to recruit 2 or 3 players that aren't college ready.

It's cause he's old and he obviously requires long naps in order to function.

With the change in Florida, which was probably where Blackwell was going, it would help tremendously if someone would actually contact and recruit him......if they are interested that is.

Ya, he totally should have just not done his job and taken a pass on recruiting for a year. He should have just assumed he'd be fired. Blaming Tyndall for our lack of visits and eval days is asinine.

He was doing (or at least trying) precisely what he was supposed to do during his employment: run the team and recruit. Blame him for his past mistakes, sure, but it's just silly to keep harping on the visits issue.

I didnt say anything bad about tyndall. I was just simply stating the situation barnes is in.
