So if walker committed with another RB already committed, is that osu's fault?

Fwiw, osu is expecting hill (the #4 ranked RB that was committed before walker) to play slot.

My opinion is that he will want to run the rock and that he may not end up in osu's class. Which sucks because he is very talented.

Here is the articl link from ESPN where Walker talks about it

Quotes from article:

When ESPN junior 300 running back Kareem Walker first committed to Ohio State, he thought he would be the only running back in the class and Stan Drayton would be the running backs coach. Nearly three months later, neither statement is the same.

“The coaches told me that Coach Alford said they would use DeMario McCall like Jalin Marshall, as an H-back, but when I was talking to [George Hill], he said he wanted to play running back,” Walker said. “Everybody is saying they’ll be the slot guys and I’ll be the running back. You have the No. 1 running back and you take three backs in my class.”

Walker says he isn’t going to make any decisions right now, but he does want to sit down with his coach to talk about the impact of the other two prospects and if he should make any tough decisions in the near future.

Being so highly ranked, he has heard from close friends who are now playing college football and opposing coaches trying to recruit him. His friends have told him to make sure he thinks things through and coaches are hoping he considers their school.

Walker recently took a visit to Rutgers and says he doesn’t have any other visits planned as of yet, but will be taking visits in the future. He has recently heard from Alabama, Arizona State and Penn State, but is still committed to Ohio State.

“Right now I’m just trying to stay positive with everything. That’s what I’m trying to do the most is stay positive,” he said. “I’m not really too worried about competition.”

Thx buddy... I messed that one up... Anyway jbawjbaw said he wasn't lied to, even after reading Walkers own quotes. It's not like we made it up, it was the recruits own words. He has real trouble with accepting facts.... He doesn't know what a h-back is either.

Honestly though we have to take two RBs this cycle at minimum. Walker should have ample opportunity to contribute early because we're so thin at the position though. But if he wants to be the only RB taken, I don't see that happening because numbers are so thin at the position.

Call my posts "rationalization" if you want. Call me a troll if you want.

I STILL haven't been proven wrong and have been completely respectful with my comments as well.

FWIW, as I said a few pages back George Hill (you know, the RB that was committed 6 months before walker) is rumored to be considering flipping to MSU where his HS teammate committed for the 2015 class.

It sounds like osu wants him as a slot/hybrid guy and Walker to play the Elliot role, but Hill wants to strictly be a RB.

You'll probably land Walker anyway but don't delude yourself into thinking your program is aboveboard...your team under Urban has and will win championships because he piles up masses of talent. Two straight seasons of being dishonest with 5 star running backs is worth the sliminess Urb is willing to wade into...chest deep. Don't get greedy and expect us to buy that he's classy. He is going to lie and cheat and ooze you championships and you'll name a school building after him...prolly something to do with cardiology.

C'mon man. Don't forget Kelly. He's already with us, just wasn't an EE.

I am intrigued by the idea that some believe that Alvin Kamara could be a 1 and done player. I just do not see that at all. Especially considering that this will be his first season as a FBS player.

He has 3 years of eligibility left as a redshirt Sophmore, so i would expect him to be around for at least 2 seasons before he builds enough interest from NFL scouts.

It's the Volnation way - all our recruits will turn pro early until their senior year arrives.

RBs can make an immediate impact in college. If Kamara makes an impact in the SEC you can bet NFL scouts will have plenty of interest.

The problem is, many OSU fans act like Urban is above reproach. OSU fans can have their parade all they want, but simple facts are, most OSU fanatics are trying to sale a product that no TN fan is willing to buy.

OSU will always obtain top talent. They also play 3-4 good teams all year. The overinflation by the media of the SEC, as a whole, does not change the argument that the SEC is the deepest conference in college football, and quite frankly, it's not even arguable at the moment. OSU fans can boast all they want, but down inside we all know OSU coasts through the Big 10 like a paper boat going down hill on a rainy afternoon. OSU beat a broken down Bama team and an Oregon team that runs an offense that seams to never prevail when all the marbles are up for grabs. Congrats...:bump3: Facts are, OSU has a lier for a coach, and one, who seams to have found the best beta blockers on the market to recover from such a cardiovascular disorder that he obtained while at FL. The media may not want to sale it, but we all know the true colors that Little Urbby shines...

Love my man TP.

That very last quote is the exact reason Butch is killing it on the trail… Not only is he and the staff very good, but when you add into the equation elite recruits helping you, it is hard for others to overcome. In case anyone forgot, Butch gets it.

We absolutely stumbled into the best case scenario for the future of UT football by landing at Butch Jones, barring a miracle Gruden hire. The talent we can potentially add in this class is absolutely insane for how bad we've been the last 3 years.

I'm not sure Gruden could keep up in recruiting. Honestly Butch has been "best case scenario," a true diamond in the rough.

Funny what happens when you hire a proven winner to right the ship.. :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Totally agree. I thought we had to have a big name to compensate for all the damage done to the program by Fulmer, Kiffin, and Dooley. I could not see how this guy who had never competed on this level could turn recruiting into a positive. I was Gruden or bust.

Jones has performed beyond my expectations on the recruiting trail. I think he is doing a relative good job in development. He has corrected our APR problems.

Now can he win? He has made some real errors on the field in his first two years. Vanderbilt in year one and Florida in year two showed his vulnerabilities. If he can learn from that he might create a dynasty that will last for decades.
