Lmao evidence of this being his recent showing at Adidas Nations where he faced the best players his age range in the world?

@THicksBH: 2016 F Matt Freeman w/ a great week to close out the summer in Cali. Averaged 17.8 pts (60% FG, 48% 3PT), 3.3 rbs, 1.5 asts in 23.3 mpg.

@TheRecruitScoop: Really like the intangibles & all-around game of Matt Freeman. Tough, active defender who can spot up and shoot the ball. #AdidasNations

Watching the fiba games, he got scored on way too many times in the paint. Might've just been that the opponent had good offensive moves.

what about the work on his shot a little statement, you get that from 1 game of 3 on 3 also?

The 3 x 3 tournament? How was his defense in that game of 21, or knockout though?

He looked streaky, not bad, but it seemed he could've got a little more lift.

You do realize he's 6'10" and just shot 68% from the field and 48% from 3 in multiple games against the top competition in the world, right?

Yes. I do. That's very impressive, glad he's working on his shot, but he really got owned at the fiba game.

Had to rewatch the game, he had 5, his man had 8. And he got scored on in Help defense twice.

Definitely odd, was thought to like ND, Vandy & UT...OK wasn't really even in the picture a couple of weeks ago and not sure he ever visited, gotta think there's a coaching connection there somewhere.

Really wanted him. I wonder if the commitment sticks until signing day and if he makes any visits. I hope we continue to recruit him until he signs.

Quite possibly the favorite, Vandy/Butler/Notre Dame all involved also. This staff has been on him since their Texas days though so they definitely have a long relationship with both him and his New Zealand coaches.

How did we go from this to not even being given a thought?

I still say when butch retires from football, the basketball staff should hire him as a recruiter, he does something right apparently.
