There's a chance he would start for 4 years at Kentucky. There's also just as good a chance he would go 20-24 during that span at Kentucky
He said he had a really good visit with DeBord and spent almost all of Saturday morning until the afternoon talking football, watching film, having lunch with DeBord and Nick Sheridan and Butch Jones.
They talked about how DeBord plans to add some things to the offense but that it will basically stay the same. He said the biggest thing about this visit was getting to know DeBord. He noted that he had a lot of energy and was surprised by that because he wasn't sure what to expect.
He said he's 'pretty comfortable,' with things at Tennessee right now and I asked him after visiting Kentucky how is he going to handle his recruitment, etc., he said he's not sure. He added he plans on being at one of Tennessee's spring practice to see what DeBord is like as a coach on the field, but first impressions were good he said.
Honestly don't think he would start 4 years. Towles will be a senior. Barker will be a soph (if I'm counting right). He'd probably have a good chance at 2, maybe 3 years at starting. Towles is legit when he's healthy and protected.
Dobbs is inconsistent but I wouldn't call him erratic. He's yet to have either a full season as the #1 QB or a full offseason getting #1 reps. Could do wonders for him.
I guarantee almost every team in the SEC right now would rather have Josh Dobbs than who they are starting
A breath of reason finally concerning this. UK currently has more competition at QB than UT does. Towles is the best player you guys have on offense and he has two years to go. Barker was a 5 star recruit who has 4 years to go. The idea that Kendall would choose UK because he wouldn't have much completion has always seemed crazy to me.
I'm gonna say it...
Kendall/family follows VN, and the over reaction on here to DeBord spooked them a bit
He's kinda right though. Dobbs is Matty Mauk type erratic. Until he shows some consistency, people will express their doubts. IMO if Dobbs has a lackluster year with all our talent at the receiver and tight end position, you could very easily see a legit battle for the QB spot in 2016. Unlikely, but definitely possible - especially if one of our 3 newly signed QBs steps it up and shows he's ready to lead the offense.
Dobbs was one of the limiting factors in the downfield passing game last year. Butch has shown that he is not afraid of replacing players with better players. These all-star receivers we have will want someone who can accurately get the ball down field or there is going to be a lot of frustration in the future.
Why do you think Butch started Ferguson for two years?

I don't think Barker was a 5 star, but he's a little higher than where Kendall is right now. Was around 100th overall. Kendall probably is a bit better imo, but then again, we really haven't seen Barker at all, and might not for a couple years.
Will Barker play at Ky? Seems like he's trying his best to get dismissed.
Well, I just looked up both of them from high school. Barker was ranked the #5 QB in the nation (105th overall player). Kendall is ranked the #3 QB (27th overall player). Seems like Kendall is ranked much higher than Barker in high school.
