Eh meh. I don't feel great about the prospect of ever losing a game. But I can be realistic. Lest I want to off myself given that a loss is inevitable in our future at some point. I think it'll be a good game, we'll score...they'll score (hopefully not a lot) more due to our defense being less than excellent. We'll do better than Auburn did against them last year at least.
I am not a Georgia fan but lets face it Ga Tech was extremely lucky to beat Georgia last year and it basically took a miracle for them to do it. Georgia can always beat Ga Tech but once in a blue moon Ga Tech will win. The game in Knoxville with Georgia should be epic this year!! I would say the winner takes home the East not disrespecting Missouri. But in the SEC anything can happen.
Richt should be on thr hot seat if UGA isn't the East Champs
GT COULD be good again next year but they have been that "have a fluky type of season every now and then" type of team for a long long time. They have only beaten UGA twice in about 12 years. And yes, Richt does lose one or two at times he shouldn't but last year probably more so because Mason was just not good at all. They kept him there because of his ability to protect the ball but he never took chances and had no zip on the ball with his throws either.
This year, UGAs defense will be even better a second year under Pruitt (already had vast improvements last year from what we saw under Grantham), most of the line is in tact and a year better and the stable of backs are the best in the country. I absolutely believe Tech will get crushed this year. Do I worry a bit about the UT game? Yep. And every UGA fan probably does. But like watching my childhood hero Dale Murphy swing at out of the strike zone sliders, keep throwing them til he learns to hit them. And I will keep picking UGA to win until the current streak ends.
For the record, I believe the UT game is more concerning than the AU game because I think AU got exposed by Pruitt last year and it doesn't matter that they changed QBs because the system is the same.
Good luck to ya .. at least all the games except for the UGA game lol.
Probably will be if he does not win the East to be honest with you.
And winning the East is going to get harder.
-UT looks to be real tough again
-Mizzou always fields a team that is very well coached.
-UF, in my opinion, made a home run hire and will always recruit very well.
The East is going to be very competitive real soon. The next couple of years will be very interesting.
This is my thing with Richt. He has managed not to win the east at its lowest point in history. It is only going to get tougher to win it from here on out. He is a good coach, but there is just something about him that he doesn't have.
It has more to do with high expectations. Something always has to go bad whenever we go into a season with high expectations. The team seems to play better when somebody else is a favorite.
2013 is one of the years it should have been yalls year but wasnt Richt's fault. Yall had so many injuries that season.
That doesn't really explain the season opening loss to Clemson where their only significant injury was an ACL tear to WR Malcolm Mitchell during a TD chest bump celebration... Great teams don't tend to lose to Vanderbilt either, regardless of injuries. That was never a very good defense.
And just like in that conversation, you jump in and it's totally over your head. My point then was it is meaningless for someone who's last title was 17 years ago to poke fun at some team who's last title was 35 years ago when we are talking about recruiting since the kids that are being recruited now weren't alive for either. It's a wash. I didn't start that battle either, I was on the receiving end when it started.
Fat and slow isn't a huge problem to have when you're a 3-4 Noseguard
