Players after the game echoed the head coach's statements. They all said they saw something different about this team on that night. After falling behind 24-3 in the second quarter, Tennessee would score 28 unanswered points and eventually score the victory.
But, it wasn't just the team that saw something different that night, the list included some of the Vols' most coveted recruits, including Peachtree Ridge High School safety Nigel Warrior.
Talk about it in The General's Quarters
"It was amazing. I can't really explain. I just know I saw something different in the players' mentality," Warrior said. "They got to the ball faster. You always want to see a team win, but every time I went they had always lost. So, for them to win, it just felt like something new."
After taking in the thrilling win on Saturday, Warrior and his family were able to hang out with Jones and his coaching staff on Sunday. Warrior said he liked Tennessee's approach, taking time to get to know Warrior the person instead of Warrior the football player.
"It really wasn't a message. It was just having a good time, spending time with the person and not just the coach," Warrior said. "It wasn't really like being with a coach, we actually just talked about life. Then, I got to see team meetings and stuff like that.
"That actually meant a lot because you don't get that with most schools. With them doing that it made me feel closer to Tennessee."
Warrior has already cut his list to a more manageable 10 teams, but the Peach State native is looking to make another cut here in the next few weeks as his season wraps up.
"It's going to good. I've narrowed it down to 10 so I'll probably be narrowing it down to five soon," Warrior explained. "I'm just playing football right now and even though I'm not thinking about it, I am thinking about it just not in a major way and like I will be after the season."
Warrior added, "I'm pretty sure they will," when asked if Tennessee will be in that group.
Breaking down his top 5:
"It is not 100 percent concrete, but in my mind my top five are LSU, Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee," Warrior said.
Warrior broke down what he loves about each of those five programs.
LSU: "I talk to Coach Raymond almost every day. They have great DB's that come out of LSU. That is basically DBU, so that is something I want to be a part of."
Ohio State: "That was my first offer. I talk to Coach Coombs almost everyday. That is a national championship team that shows love all the time."
Alabama: "Winning seasons. They have a tradition of winning and I love it. Coach Nick Saban is a great coach and I like how he does business."
Tennessee: "Family ties, of course. But also how they treat my family. They make sure that we are straight and check up on me all of the time."
Georgia: "Staying home to play would be amazing. The coaches are outstanding. Why would I not want to play for my hometown school?"
Warrior has one official visit set to Ohio State for Nov. 21, and plans to give each of his top five an official. He hopes to have his decision made by signing day, with a potential announcement at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game.

Army All-American Nigel Warrior has a top five in mind
Bama friend texted me this yesterday about bama:
"Hank South with 247 still claims we are in good shape with warrior. No details. . Just answered a question in a recruiting chat"
Bump. I'm kindve over the Hardman and Davis threads this cycle. Give me Warrior, Calloway, Velus Jones, Brown.
Watching the long pass burn repeatedly ( example Florida final play and Georgia near miss) makes me think a quality Db is probably a sound recruiting piece.
We need warrior more than most other positions in my book
Amen. We need more athleticism in the back end of our defense. TKJr is solid, has great instincts and good ball skills. But for our defense to really take off and become elite, we great athletes like Warrior at safety. If Ev Berry continues to develop he could fit the mold as well. Stephen Griffin is also a bigger, athletic safety that can hopefully get to that level. That being said, I think Warrior is on a different athletic level....God knows his dad was...I was a student at UT when Dale was and saw it up close Saturday after Saturday. Another Dale Carter, another Deon Grant...those are the type guys we need in our secondary.
