Tennessee will likely be a preseason top 10 team next year if we finish like we should.

Agreed except the preseason top 10 part. Maybe top 20, unless we beat Bama Saturday

Craig was going on Friday. So no in terms of an in person meeting. Im sure one of the 3 staffs had something to do with persuading him to take more time to make the right and final decision. No reason to choose a school just to choose one of your going to possibly change mind later. He already decommitted once. It usually best to make the 2nd time the last.

Why not? We would be a 9 win team that closed out the season very strongly and is not only returning almost everyone, but the young players will have a little experience under their belt.

That finish would put us somewhere around #12-#8 preseason.

We would be coming off a bowl win against Duke or somebody of that ilk, which isn't really going to impress voters that much. It'd put us in the top 20, but we wouldn't start in the top 10. I'd say somewhere around #15 at best.

Just look at this year. We had a talented team coming off a strong finish last year with a ton of preseason hype and we were #25. There are a lot of other teams out there returning players that are going to win more than 9 games this year.

Personally, I'm more interested in next years post season poll.. IMO, we don't need the 'hype' surrounding a high pre season ranking..

I would rather the team be pissed about a perceived slight and HUNGRY!

Not a good sign that he just came off his biggest visit here and we are already perceived to be behind UGA/AU.

7-6 is not very similar to 9-4... If we finish out 9-4 we will be ranked in the top 20 before the season even ends.

Kyle is truly torn from what I am hearing. Also him delaying his announcement is a good sign for us. CBJ and staff are pushing very hard and we are selling him to come and be a part of something special. His dad loves Tennessee and CBJ as has been stated in this thread.
I dont have any clue when he will announce but I do know we are not running third in this race.

Well, as far as a victory over Duke not being impressive is concerned, a lot of people said the same thing last year after we beat the daylights out of Iowa. But, I would say that at this point, some might be reconsidering how strong that Iowa teams was that we dismantled.

As far as where we are ranked preseason, that is about as meaningless a stat as any I am aware of. All it is, is a bragging point for fans.

That Iowa team is still hot garbage, they just have the easiest schedule in the country. We'd put 40 points on them by halftime again if we played this weekend.

And I completely agree on the preseason ranking. Completely meaningless.
