I ate lunch a few Sundays ago with Vons former hs coach.I told him the same thing.I told him the way Von did it was the problem.He told me he didn't know until Von announced.He said that he thinks the kid was really torn about it until he made the announcement. Also told me the only school he would flat out tell one of his kids to not go to was South Carolina.Said he had sent his one and only player that he would ever send to them.

No doubt about it easy. Dudes a baller and freak athlete. He was becoming a very, very good player as a freshman, earning more and more playing time each game, and that's saying something because AU was stacked in 2013 with the likes of Dee Ford, Montravius Adams (24/7 sports freshman all-American), Gabe Wright, etc.

It's been a few years, but I'm pretty sure AU runs the star position where they play a S/LB hybrid. If I remember correctly, I believe Lawson played standing up as much as he did on the ground. Their defensive system is pretty unique because a lot of the time they will play an athletic DT at SDE. They almost run a nickel defense with a SS in the box, while also playing huge upfront on most downs, many times going 3 down on the line while playing DL fronts you see in 3-4 defenses. It's unique.

Agree. I can see why Vonn wouldn't come with doody here. I mean when you have a head coach of a major football college that refuse to build relationships with local or state wide coaches. On top that don't even bother going to see them play in your on back yard. But Vonn could have shown more class to Butch and just tell him he isn't coming to UT.

Two credible insiders have said that we have two 5 stars receuiting for us and you guys are here crying over spilt milk. Vonn Bell will never play for Tennessee and frankly I don't know how much of a game changer he would have been

I agree. Tn or the fans didn't drop ball with Vonn....Dooley did...unfortunately coaches rep the school.

Vonn situation appears to be a teen immaturally having trouble separating a school and coach. TN nor Butch deserved to be played...if that was the intent

Just says he is reading all the time how he is a silent commit to all these different schools (he uses UGA as the main example) and he says he just shakes his head because he says "he hasn't really thought about it".

I really hope we get this guy we need to get a big 5* elite prospect. And if we do manage to land this kid I don't think we can understate how important him and JG spending time together at the Opening, was for us!

I will repeat like I have the last 10 times..... we have KD and NW. Very very good chance we will also have TL and sooner than people think. Period. Let's focus our attn on Mecole. I mentioned before that we have a shot but we are not leading. Well, slowly but surely, the mo is moving towards us. I would call us even at this point and his visit will go a very long way in getting him inked. This is turning out to be the est class I have seen in a decade.

Dude, no offence but it's a long way to NSD and anything can happen. Nothing is absolute until the LOIs are signed. Best class in a decade? Are you talking about for any team or just UT?

Dude- of course i know that and so does everyone else. So what is the point of even posting info if you want to wait till signing day. Trust me when I tell you that we have KD and NW. Look at the WR offers and commits that UGA has accepted in the last 3 weeks. They will get one or two more WRs this month. Look at what is happening with Shyheim Carter (yes- UGA will get him, not LSU). BTW- that is another reason why MH is looking at us. Yes anything can happen, but you don't move the dad to Knoxville (and are getting convince the mom to do the same) if there was nothing. Those moves are permanent. There is a reason why KD has now set a date after these developments. NW was always a Vol--there is no #2 regardless of what you hear. There has been a lot that has gone on behind the scene, so when you say "anything can happen" that is just insulting to anyone that posts info and to our amazing staff. This will be the best class we have signed in more than a decade.

Sorry but posting anything can happen is not insulting at all, because it's a FACT. Kids can commit and stay committed until NSD and then flip. No one knows this better than our staff. It happens every year. It's part of recruiting. I am not saying that KD or NW will flip. All I am saying is it's a long way before anything is even close to absolute. For the record, I hope you're right on everything because this class has a chance to be great.

Yes I agree with you but will also remind you that these two are special cases and the chances of a flip away from us are not high. But your point is well taken. Ultimately all that matters is that we get these guys which we will.

I like what you've been selling. Still cautious because your stats aren't proven yet. But i don't think this class can be better than last year. Last year was quality and quantity. We got a ton of great players and in the positions of need. McKenzie, Tuttle, Dormady, Jones, J Jones, Jennings, P Williams, Kamara, Phillips, Richmond, Kirkland, Martin and the others will be hard to beat

Fwiw I've been hearing great things regarding KD, NW, and to a lesser extent Dickerson

Knott is still being heavily recruited and he is listening

JoeJuan also seems to be a vol right now
