I think Stove goes to Auburn who already has Nate Craig. Amazes me that any WR would go to Auburn, just like GT.

Craig won't sign there. As for Stove, UF made a strong push but Aub leads atp.

Really don't care as long as UF gets Victor and Bruce. Stove isn't that much better than Swain or Tre Nixon despite what the rankings say.

The must gets are Victor and Bruce. Would love to have NCM but his brother is part of the deal tonget him.

Its a two team race between UT and UGA. You have to feel good about this one considering hes been here twice this spring and will be at the opening with a couple of Vol commits.

Interesting. UGA seems to feel pretty confident. Chad Clay committing to UGA yesterday presumably helps their case.

If Butch gets Kyle Davis & Mecole Hardman to committ then he's a damn mad scientist. I've seen Butch do some amazing recruiting, but that would really be raising the bar. The UGA/UT game is going to be crazy significant for recruiting this year & next.

His HS teammate, OL EJ Price, is committed to UGA as well. This one will be a tough pull. There seems to be a concerted effort to keep Georgia guys instate this year, and the more of them that buy into it creates a snowball effect. Georgia could land a top 5-ish class annually without leaving its borders if it could convince all the top players to stay home.

Good thing they've yet to keep Jones out then. :)

Yep. We've made a living in Georgia for as long as I can remember. Even Dools recruited Georgia mildly well.

Everybody recruits GA well just due to the amount of prospects that the state produces. Auburn recently had a twitter campaign bragging about the amount of prospects they pull from the state of GA.

Yet no championships for the home school. Tisk tisk

Sure, Georgia produces a ton of talent, but being the only major school in the state (Tech isn't a threat), they do a below average job of keeping the best instate talent at home IMO.

Over the past 5 years, the University of Georgia has managed to keep 36% of the top-10 instate players.

Some other SEC schools who face little competition from other schools inside their own borders...

LSU has kept 64%
Arkansas has kept 58%
Tennessee has kept 44%

Even teams from talent rich states like Texas, California, and Florida with direct competition from other major universities inside their own borders have managed similar results...

USCw has kept 44% (with reduced scholarship numbers for part of that time)
Texas has managed to keep 30% in one of the worst 5 year periods in 25 years, and competing with A&M and Baylor.
Florida St. has kept 28% while competing with Florida and Miami.

I'm just surprised that UGA, with no intrastate competition, doesn't manage to hild on to more of their elite instate prospects. Perhaps that tide may begin to turn with this 2016 class, and if it does, UGA becomes very dangerous in spite of Richt.

I know and with all of Tennessee's instate talent too! What a disappointment!

Your last ring's got pretty hefty layer of dust on it too there pot

We have six, you have two. Were you even born when UGA won their last championship?

UGA always recruits top ten classes and yet they never have anything to show for it.

We have this debate on UGA boards as well and it has some merit but I tend to lean towards favoring talent from any state. People like to point to the in-state players that "got away" over the last several years but never point at the guys like Gurley, Marshall, Theus, Tramel Terry, Aaron Murray, Jeb Blazevich, McGraw, Dawson, Michel, Allen and now with kids like Eason.

And pointing out FSU being at 28% kind of comes up moot when you consider that even UGA is pillaging from that state (where I live) but the guys the UGA pulled from FL almost all had offers from UM and FSU. So does that mean that the big three in Florida collectively don't do a good job of keeping talent in state? No, there is just that much to go around. The states with loads of talent are going to have other schools, UT included, come in and do some work but UGA continues to get theirs.

Actually, yes, I was and saw the whole thing. Not sure what the heck that has to do with anything. But UGA has 2 SEC Championships since CMR has gotten there along with 4 East titles.

And yet UGA fans can always depend on CMR to choke away at least one game per year.

And your last ring has a very heavy layer of rust. 35 years vs 17 years...pretty big difference. The parents of the current class of recruits were barely born when UGA last won a ring.
