'16 AZ DE Jonathan Kongbo UT Signee 2/3/16

Nothing to see here boys. Just like 4 years ago when the Dooley defenders didn't care the classes sucked. You guys will all be out on Butch in 2 years. Enjoy your ignorance while you still can.

Yep. If you look at a graph of the W/Ls of Butch and Dooley over 3 years, they are identical. We tanked all the way to 9 wins and the Outback Bowl this year, and next year we will picked to finish anywhere from 1st to 1st in the SEC East.

I see a bunch of excuses for why this class is a dumpster fire, but no mentions of all the advantages we have this year. USC, Mizzou, and Georgia all bringing in new coaches. Auburn is coming off 6 wins. Vandy in the toilet. It's pretty obvious, Butch took advantage of legacies, an unusual 2 years of in state talent, and the promise of early playing time. Why would you think the 2017 class will be any better. The top Tennessee recruit wants nothing to do with us and the 2nd best recruit isn't expected to sign with us either. Throw in Hunter Johnson actively recruiting against us and 18-25 should be expected again next year. This is the beginning of the end.

2017 class will be much more important. Even if this class is a disappointment UT isn't in trouble. Now if the 2017 goes similarly, then I'd worry, but not now.

So the last two classes in the top 8 don't matter? Nor does the fact we've gone from 5 to 7 to 9 wins during Jones's tenure after going from 6 to 5 to 5 wins during Dooley's tenure? You sound like the truly ignorant one here friend... Try waiting until NSD before trolling the board. Good chance you could end up looking like an a$$ here.

You're debating a troll who was too lazy to even impersonate a Negavol convincingly...these kids nowadays. :)

This reads like one of those times where you look around and think to yourself I must be on Candid Camera....right? But then you realize, no people are just this stupid sometimes on volnation. Congrats on having the great logic and reasoning skillzzzz and not letting your emotions interfere at alllllll!

Your intentions here are transparent and if you think the 2017 in-state talent is in any way comparable to this year's in-state class than you are ignorant as well. As for legacies? You are talking about 6 players (TK Jr, Bates, Creamer, McKenzie and the Berrys) out of the more than 50 that have signed the last two years. Is the Hunter Johnson line about actively recruiting against us supposed to scare us? We still have Higgins and are very much in the hunt for Rogers.... and the 2nd best recruit in Tenn is Bituli, btw.

Now, get lost troll... You are too ignorant to be any good at this.

The problem with losing a top tier player like Kongbo is that these types of players usually tend to sign with our competition (AL, FLA, UGA, LSU, Etc.). I do not subscribe to the thinking that taking recruiting years off, like Butch Jones has done with this class, is acceptable. Highly rated players are signed EVERY recruiting cycle, meaning that if they do not sign with Tennessee, they will sign with our competition. This class must finish strong in order to make it salvagable IMO.

Every year there are only a handful of true impact players. Getting them greatly increases your chances of winning. Landing Von Bell & Jalen Ramsey would have changed our fortunes dramatically. It is no coincidence that both won titles. Butch will obviously need to recruit at a high level to win this league. Our traditional rival finishes at or very near the top of the recruiting rankings every year. We need to be somewhere close. Maybe even out-recruit them sometimes. I know this is a small class, but it still needs to be filled with top level guys.

I take it you haven't followed recruiting long. Take a Xanax.

I recall the last couple years where we were saying how boring NSD was because Butch pretty much had everything wrapped up well in advance of the first Wednesday of February. This year has obviously been different. I think many people have already reconciled themselves to the fact that this class is a failure because of this. Butch may crap the bed with this class when it's all said and done but to think that this class doesn't have a chance with all the star power still visiting is a mistake IMO. Let it play out and if it truly is not up to standards then bash.

I think Butch is setting everything up for a NSD bang, honestly. I think that's why we will be hosting several elite prospects that we have legit shots with the last weekend before NSD. Butch is one of the best closers, IMO. He will show it that last weekend. We are in for a very fun ride, IMO.

Kongbo is likely headed to USCw at this point. Not exactly our competition.

Agreed. We're still very much in it with guys like Warrior, Brown, Dickerson, Calloway, Victor, Richards, and could get visits from several others. We could have one if the stronger finishes in the country.

Doubt this is the main reason, but is Jancek leaving part of the 'personal reason' Kongbo referred to on his statement on social media?

UT's recruiting class has fallen to 9th in the SEC and 26th nationally. But don't worry... its all good. No. In fact, it is GREAT! <sarcasm>

Seriously, some of you need to face problems rather than trying to just hand wave them. Jones has some serious work to do in order to make this a good class. w

When it comes to doing "serious work," Butch consistently succeeds. Quit being such a whiner about what might happen in 3 years. You have no idea.

2nd best recruit in 2017. And I wasn't referring to Joejuan, but you're right that is 2 years of top in state recruit wanting nothing to do with us. The reason we went from 5 to 7 to 9 wins is because the SEC East is awful and we had an unusual amount of in state talent/legacy commits. Call me crazy, but I think Rogers is going to USC.

Look! He's back! Not calling you crazy, just a troll. The best recruit in the state in 2015 was Drew Richmond, 2nd best was Kyle Phillips. The only two players in the top 12 Tenn offered and didn't sign were Rico McGraw and Van Jefferson (who we were lukewarm about).. 4 losses by 17 points - two of which were to CFP teams that we had a lead with 3 minutes to play against. If you can't see the improvement in that vs 2013 when they were losing games by scores of 59-14, 55-23, 45-10 and 31-3 then I really don't care... Like I said earlier, your agenda here is transparent.
