Didn't I hear on the TV broadcast yesterday that Banks played something like 30 players in the 1st half and like 12 or 14 are true or RS Freshmen?

If so, thats insane.

With our tempo, success is the same as failure on offense to our defense. Were giving the ball back up with a punt or a score so the 'bend don't break' mentality is our defensive reality. With the injuries to the DL and secondary, we're already starting kids who wouldn't see the field until the 2nd half anyways.

we hung 40 on Georgia. there's not a team left on our schedule we cannot outscore.
While I agree, this is also letting our staff off to easy. It would be nice to them develop a defense, more specifically a secondary.

The goal in football is to be somewhat complimentary. Championship teams usually are. We will inevitably come across a few teams this year that hold our offense, or maybe JA has an off game, etc. Then it will most certainly matter that our defense leaks like a screen door.

Outside of Alabama and maybe Arkansas (due to their QB skills) I don't see an offense that has the ability to keep up with us..at least in the regular season....

If we make the playoffs, the key will be our health by then and the matchup...

if we are 10-2 but still down everyone on defense and playing at Oregon in the first round, might not be the best matchup.

but if we have everyone back and hosting Indiana, Memphis or Miami...yea we will be fine

Fine against a first round cupcake that really doesn’t deserve to be there. Then not so fine when we encounter an all around good team. I prefer to have a team that can go deeper than that 1st round. And I don’t think Miami is the draw you want. That defense looks nasty and we’ve made beck look like a heisman contender in the past.

I didn't say cupcake, I said a likely first round home game like we SHOULDVE gotten vs SMU last season.

Miami isn't that good, Florida just sucks. the ACC likely won't have 2 playoff teams unless Miami/FSU loser wins 11 games

The possible realistic playoff team candidates right now:

SEC
Georgia, LSU, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Missouri

Big Ten
Oregon, Ohio St, Penn St, USC, Indiana, Washington

Big 12
Texas Tech, Iowa St, Utah, Arizona State

ACC
Miami, Florida St, Ga Tech

G5
Memphis, Tulane, Navy, Rice, North Texas, UNLV, Fresno St

Honestly SEC is SEC and of course UGA team i would "fear" and we just showed we can beat them

Oregon, OSU and USC have great offenses so where we play and our depth matters here

No one else is worrisome, we can beat them all

When you are up 41-7 at the half, there is no problem giving up some yards and points in the second half against backups.

Also, of our 4 games we have played 2 really good offenses. Cuse beat Dabo yesterday, and we all know uga is a playoff team. Most other teams, i am looking at you big 10 big 12 and acc, have played 3 bad teams.

I think a lot of our success on D will come down to McCoy returning. The rumors are he may not come back and just prepare for the NFL, but AP mentioned he would be interested if we have something to play for, which we do currently.

If we can take care of business and win out until Bama then I’m hoping we get to see him in orange the rest of the year from there.

"If we have something to play for."

Boy I hope that's not true. All other injury rehab concerns aside, I sure hope that's not true.

SEC has 451 players in the NFL
Tennessee has 32 with 6 on injured reserve or practice squad
Miss State has 16 with 4 on injured reserve or practice squad
Don't believe any of those players will be on the field Saturday. Who has the most NFL potential on the field this year?
