'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

His oline struggled mightily. He had three very good receivers to start the season. One broke his leg and the other one suffered a season ending knee injury. They also had almost zero run game. I heard they threw about 75-80% of the time. Because of a lack of a run game and inferior oline, their opponents blitzed on almost every play. They also had lots of drops and more than have of his interceptions came off balls going threw the receivers hands.

Surely you guys can comprehend it takes more than one or two kids on a team to be successful.

I just don't think this guy fits our system! Butch, you need a running Qb for your offense to work in the SEC. This will be another Worley type guy with a decent arm and a lil more mobility.

Since so many don't think he will fit, maybe he will flip to TCU, Baylor or Texas. He would thrive in their systems and he wouldn't have such an uphill battle to win.

You can make me less sad by editing your post and adding that all-important blue font. Otherwise, you might be served by looking into recruits a wee bit before jumping ship.

Also...I *loved* the fact that you addressed your second sentence to Butch himself. I hope he reads your comment before destroying our program by bringing in that immobile statue Dormady!

Dormady will run this system just fine. I feel like some of you think the QB has to run the ball every snap. The system works when the right reads are made.

I don't want to make anyone angry but I truly believe this system is fit more for a mobile QB. Worley was a 4 star stud out of NC and we have seen what those types of qbs do for this offense in the SEC. You need the threat of a running Qb to keep these SEC d lines from pinning their ears back and attacking the Qb all day.

Not necessarily. The reason Dobbs appears to be a better fit is because his mobility allows him to overcome the online play. The oline will improve.

So...you don't care at all about my sadness, do you?

What makes you think that Dormady is as immobile as Worley?

You surely have seen the countless posts on here documenting his outstanding shuttle time and good 40 time, I'm sure.

You are certainly aware that being listed as a pro-style QB does not mean that you are slow - Dobbs was listed as a pro-style QB.

And you doubtlessly know that not having a massive rushing total in HS does not mean that you are an immobile QB - Dobbs didn't rush for 1,000 yards either, and only averaged 0.3 more per carry than Dormady in his senior year.

I guess we will see because CBJ has his guy. I think we need a true dual threat QB. Dobbs has turned out to be a pretty good athlete with the ball in his hands though.

Apparently Butch thinks he will fit just fine. Just so you know QD has one of the strongest arms in the 2015 class.

The only reason you're saying that is because the OL is terrible. If our OL was good, Dobbs would be running very little.

Exactly. His int's don't concern me a bit. When you can focus on just him and the pass game and throw it that often int's are gonna happen. I doubt they win half their games if Dormady wasn't QB. This kid will be a very good QB for us.

100% correct. And he does have mobility but I'm sure they didn't want him running much or at all. Dobbs had 400 total yards rushing his Sr yea, 38 yards a game. And he was a prostyle QB, just like Dormady. If we had an oline no way Dobbs runs more than 8-10 times at the most. Seems to may think they know better than the Coach's on what they need to run their system. There is no way I want us having a QB running 15-20 times a game. Chances of getting through a season unhurt isn't likely.

Exactly. They went 2-8 last year without him. I think Tenn has some excellent talent in the qb position for the coming several years.

What I have learned from watching the UT offense this year is that the QB looks really good when the quality of the opponent is really low.
Dobbs didn't look good at all Saturday.

Are you really going to blame Saturday on Dobbs with all the dropped passes, terrible line protection, and false starts on key short yardage situations? Smh.....
