Pittman gon Pittman.

The only regret that CBJ may have in the next 2-3 years was his not retaining Pittman. That was a mistake and many on here pointed it out at the time including myself.

We'll know what we have in an OL coach (if we're giving him the benefit of the doubt now) after the '15 season. There may be some hints (good or bad) after the bowl game. I'm hoping for tremendous improvement.

The problem with our line is simple... Our upperclass who are starting are horrible..

Pittman didn't exactly bring in studs here. The guys we are having to play with this year are Pittman's guys. Y'all are giving him way too much credit.

Pittman did not bring in a single guy. He was fired before he signed his first class.

I was part of the vast majority that's only wish was for Butch to retain JG and Pittman and were disappointed with just half that wish...that being said, in retrospect, Butch has always had his inner circle of Coach Jake,Strip,Mahoney and Elder. As soon as Butch received the offer to be our coach, his first call MIGHT have been to his wife...the rest were to his boys. He deserves the leash he needs to make it work his way...if Mahoney shines through this cloud as Jancek did last year's? That decision won't be a mistake.

Never thought of this before but makes tons of sense. We should all agree guys outside of a few exceptions should ideally be in a program for three years before starting. First year guys can't lift the same if having to prepare to possibly play. If redshirted, they get tons of time to lift and get SEC ready.

The guys we have who were able to do this are either not very good or would be more comfortable with a scheme with their hand in the ground. I mentioned in another thread a former Vol lineman said he would have hated this scheme because it would not suit him since he was a hand in the ground type of guy. But, once these guys learn it, he said it would be incredible. Also, we don't have as many upperclass men cause if the OL whiff year Dooley had. I am concerned like anyone else with the OL and Mahoney. But, will take a wait and see. I think Pittman is great but it seems his strong point is more a hand in the ground instead of this scheme. Again, time will tell on CBJ and this offense. For the record, I am pro jones and staff but do expect to see the continued improvement of the team over the next two to three years.

Agreed. I wanted us to keep Pitt as well. But you gotta roll with what ya got so I'm behind mo for now. If some of the young guys don't develop this year we might have a problem. But IMO the OL will be the most improved group on the team. Hopefully followed closely by QB and WR.
