Nobody really returns punts against Bama's punter. He's really good....

True but there were a couple opportunities to return. One in-particular where he had a ton of open space. I don't say much about people not returning punts because I certainly wouldn't want to be the one having to focus on catching one with Bama baring down on me at full speed. That's some scary junk and you have to be a man to even sit back there and field it cleanly.

I'm confused. Everyone seems to think this kid is a Vol Lock, however on 247 and other sites we don't even seem in his top 3-5. Why the Koolaid drinking on this kid, unarguable talent but doesn't seem to be predicted to Vols anywhere? Don't get me wrong, more Texas talent the better but I think we have other needs...

If you follow his Twitter feed, no other school has had as many mentions in the last 1-2 months than Tennessee. Koolaid drinker or not, there's no doubt in my mind we have the momentum on this kid.

The VQ guys don't seem to think TN has much of a chance with him either. There is a new updated on 247 post visit, it would be interesting to hear what he said coming out of that.

The Top247 senior wide receiver from Aledo (Texas) High School said his weekend visit to Tennessee “shook a lot of things up for me” and left the Vols “really in the mix,” and he’s hoping to return there on an unofficial visit in January to show his parents what Tennessee has to offer.

Newsome said the sellout crowd inside Neyland Stadium on Saturday night during the Vols’ 34-20 loss to rival Alabama also provided the “best atmosphere” he has experienced.
“It was a sold-out crowd, and the energy was unbelievable,” he said. “Tennessee’s fan support for the school, it’s second to none, so it’s a really special place.”

He said he was hoping to decide in December, but the Ole Miss and UT visits made him want to push that back. He said the visit really opened his eyes.

Highlights from 247 article. ..We are really in the mix now. Originally planned to commit in December. But is planning to bring his parents back in January on a unofficial with him. Loved the sellout crowd & said our fans are 2nd to none. Best atmosphere he's experienced. Our coaches compared him to Antonio Brown. IMO we have a good shot with this kid especially bringing his parents back. Kahlil is on him also

"I loved it. I really did," Newsome said. "It was everything Kahlil said it would be. He told me how it is down there and it was special. It really is a special place. They take a lot of pride in Tennessee football and who they are as a program. It's a process but I truly believe coach Jones is turning it into the right direction. You can see spurts here and there and especially with the recruiting classes.

"That's one thing that caught my eye with Tennessee in the beginning, his ability to put together a top five recruiting class last year when they didn't have the best year. They've got the No. 3 recruiting class this year so that says a lot about coach Jones and where the program is headed."

"The visit really helped a lot. Coach Azzanni has been trying to get me down to Tennessee for a while. He came to see me in the spring and he was all in on me," Newsome explained. "Even when I had a top five without Tennessee he told me they weren't giving up on me. So that's how you know they really want you there. They exceeded my expectations and they have great people, a storied program, this visit helped them out a lot.

"Before I saw Tennessee I was going to make my decision some time in December or early January," Newsome said. "That's probably changing now because Texas wants me to come on my official visit in January and then Tennessee wants me back there to visit and then Ole Miss wants me to come back to see them, too. It might be mid-January because I'd rather have my decision before signing day but I will have to make a return trip to Knoxville."
