'15 TN TE Kyle Oliver (UT Signee 2/4/15)

To be exact, their commits have twelve in between them.
Ours have ninety two. :)

That would be a fun stat to follow every year. I nominate you, Giles County's finest, to produce this. I bet Dooley's classes would have rivaled Vanderbilt's as far as that goes. He always signed the 4 stars with the strangest, weakest offer lists.

Well, since you asked so nicely, I did 2012. Vandy had 59. We had 69.

According to Vanderbilt's new 247 writer we are not effectively recruiting Oliver.

Jesse Johnson

If this guy is serious in that Mason wouldn't take Oliver due to having 2 TE's already committed then Mason should just quit now. Oliver is better than any TE he currently has committed and he'll take inferior players over a superior player? Spells a recepie for success.

That's just vandy writer code for even if he decommits from TN he still probably won't go to Vandy so that's their excuse. I think we hold onto Oliver with the Helm loss and the staff is pretty big on having TE depth

I'm not fretting, I responded to people who acted as if what I'm said was foolish and out of left field

Wasn't JJ McCleskey originally a walk-on? Sometimes a player outplays his measurables. I normally enjoy your posts, but yeah, I think you're being a tad foolish to just dismiss what Ellis brought to the table this year.

I'm not that impressed with our number then. That's not even 4 SEC offers per recruit.

I don't believe that you can really count them completely. McKenzie only shows 3 SEC offers (from 2 different sites), but we all know that schools like Vandy, UK, Missouri, and Mississippi State would take him. Heck, I think any SEC team would. So, you simply can't count them correctly. I think we have 3-4 commits who could name any SEC school they wanted, so that is 40+ right there.

I don't know what all SEC offers he has, but if he wanted to, he could go to any school in the country. All he would have to do is make the call. That's obviously not the case with Vanderbilt commits.

SEC schools will not offer a highly rated player if they absolutely understand they don't have a chance in hell of getting them. There are exceptions as with Saban being arrogant enough to think he could pull Hurd only to get a cell phone pic of "ignore" posted by Hurd. That is precisely why they don't offer...to avoid being embarrassed.

Those are not completely offer lists by any means. A lot of times the profile only shows the schools that the prospect in considering at the time they update it, not every school that has offered him. People need to stop paying attention to those profiles.

Kamara is another example. He could have went to any school he wanted out of hs. His juco offer sheet shows UT and UGA. Can't really go by those pages all the time.
