DB has had its share of playoff let downs, but to categorize them as lacking in athletes is folly, as is suggesting that they bounce out early "every year"

Most wins all time in the history of Tennessee high school football?

Dobyns Bennett High School

I thought DB was Daniel Boone.....

They choke every year. I know,it you know it, and anyone that follows tri cities football knows it.

They do not bounce early every year. What they do in fact do every year is beat the ever living snot out of those spunky lil south rebels

But enough about northeast Tennessee high school football. This thread is about Dylan Wieger.

I sincerely wish him nothing but the best. Would love to see a local boy wear the Orange & White.

Go VOLS

wow, hadn't heard that in a long time

Yeah, it's been a minute. By a minute, I mean two years. I graduated in 2011. How about that W this year, though?! Ole Stacy Carter gettin' it done..."hit 'em in the mouth, run it up the gut"

I wish South would have played Greeneville this year. The Greene Devils will be heading to Fulton for what should be one heck of a game.

the last QB that was 6'3 and 210 that put up those kind of numbers is QBing for the Indy Colts...just saying, with some camps and tutoring you never know...

Peyton wouldn't have run for a thousand against a middle school team.

But he would have put up 6 figs in the passing column...

Edit: Brain fart. Sorry...

I know this kid. He isn't that good and the competition he plays against is weak. He was supposed to go to my high school but transferred. He got bumped down a division so they played schools that have 150 pound defensive tackles. If even gets a look I will be surprised.

As I have stated, high school competition level cannot be used to predict success or failure at the collegiate level.

He could sign with a D1 school and be the next AJ McCarron.

Yep. I live in Kingsport and for the most part it sucks.

I love Warriors Path Golf Course. And it's not in Kingsport, but it's not that far down the interstate to Greysburg Hills. That's my favorite. That place is legit...

As for this kid, again he reminds me of Curt Phillips from up in that area that went to Wisconsin. One of you locals might remember, but I think Phillips went to Sullivan South.....anyone????

Anyway, it didn't work out that great for Curt as he had multiple knee injuries. But it was still pretty damn cool to see an East Tenn boy going to Wisconsin. Here's to hoping the best for this young lad.

Some clowns get bored and create threads, dreaming of possible OVC caliber talent being recruited by a former top-tier SEC school. Got news for ya, dream on ole boy, cause it ain't happening

Yes, Phillips graduated early from South in '07 and he likely would've been a multi-year starter @ UW if he'd stayed healthy. Wieger's about the same size as Phillips and he appears to have a similar skill set.

I don't know about next level talk but I am a Fulton grad & have seen them many times this year.... they are the best team in the state, dominating everyone they play & this kid almost beat them himself. With 6 mins left in the 4th quarter it was 21-19 Fulton. Granted Fultons offense had several penalties & turnovers to help their D & RB Darrel Rollins went out with an injury but this kid has the size, tallent & decision making to play in college no doubt. Time after time he converted big plays under pressure to keep them in it. He was very exciting to watch & I will continue to follow him in the future.

Not to comment on this kid specifically, but it's become tradition that somebody will post a profile of a kid, and the locals will all claim that he is "the real deal."

Not knocking anyone, but it is like 1000 boys crying wolf, so much so that it makes some folks completely disregard TN QBs.

I take it you go to Dobyns Bennett. I don't think you should be trash talking Sullivan souths schedule . Db plays the same competition then gets hammered by the 1 st team from the Knoxville area they meet in the playoffs every year. 6-6.....

They aren't in the same conference anymore.
South now plays:

Unicoi county
Happy valley
Sullivan north
Sullivan east
Elizabethton

And if you know anything about the Tri cities you know these are definitely not the best teams in the area.

Science hill
Dobyns Bennett
Tennesee high

Are the big schools that most years are the best teams.

Also if you read earlier posts you know that I went to Sullivan Central not DB.

My school was awful at football and when we played Unicoi, happy valley, and east we knew we could win.

You should learn about an area before you talk about it. Especially when arguing with someone who played in that area.
