"I enjoyed it a lot. It was really good," Richmond said. "I got a chance to sit down and talk to coach (Don) Mahoney. I really enjoyed that and I got to hang out with a lot of players."

"They told me that they need me to turn around the program and that I can do it for the state. I felt like it was a true message," Richmond said. "They want to win and they want to win bad and they are all about state pride. Kids in Alabama want to stay in Alabama. Kids in Mississippi want to go to Ole Miss or Mississippi State. I feel like they're trying to get all the state kids to stay here instead of going to other schools."

"I've always been a person that's always had city and state pride and it's a good thing they're trying to turn it around and it's cool I could be apart of that turn around," Richmond said.

Love that last quote.

Really hope this kid is a part of next year's class. Would love to get him on board early and wrap up our 15' OL class.

A lot of new names will come up, but as of right now, I think this kid and McGraw may be my two biggest wants for next year

I'm with you, top talent in the state. mcGraw is going to be nasty DB. I feel like we will eventually get Drew, McGraw's interest has gone up (as has every other recruit in the world) since doodles got axed, still going to be hard to land him.

Yeah. We seem to be in good position with Richmond, but McGraw seem to love Alabama and it has been that way for some time now. There is a long way to go though. I think we can afford to be a little picky at DB for 2015

Unless a miracle happens I don't see UT even being on McGraw's radar. So far he's been pretty dismissive of all things UT (including the fans) on twitter. Says things like UT fans are the most annoying college fan base, and he's always evasive when asked anything directly about UT.

I guess I'll hope for a miracle then. Hopefully he won't be next years Ramsey

He has taken several visits to UTs campus. I would think we are least a possibility. With him dumping the loud mouth handler, it could only help us.

I agree we have a shot, but I think we'll just be a hat on the table at this point. Hopefully Butch & Co can change that...

It helps that BDV is no longer in his ear, but as of just a couple days ago his attitude toward UT hasn't changed much.

Like I said, I hope CBJ gives him a lot to consider.

Tried to punk us out, a vol fan looked hard into his non profit..... Found out he was not registered legally, and was putting corporate logos on his website saying they supported him. Turned him in. He shut it all down. Got exposed and punked the hell out.

It's actually so funny. I spotted Richmond's GF outside the recent scrimmage (where he was pretty good on his feet) and asked was it true she was a Vol, which she is. says she has "no influence on his college decision, she wants him to play where he'll shine." Lets find McGraw's girl next! Haha!

As long as the recruiters stay focused, and keep impressing him on these visits, I can see the big guy in orange! 👍
