Sorry for being lazy. Without reading the past 20 pages, did he provide a reason that he preferred Miss over UT? I would guess distance, but do not know?

I still live here and Tennessee is #1 or 2 in Memphis. Yes there are a lot of fan bases in Memphis, but they don't have the support that Tennessee does. Ole Miss is hard to gauge because so many people that live in Mississippi work in Memphis.

I live in Memphis too. I'd say its Ole Miss, Memphis, Tennessee... in that order

do it. Rocky top home sweet home to Drew!

Lol sorry I completely missed this...

would be awesome if there was a line in rocky top that said home sweet home to you. Would make for some great audio to go along with the sign.

maybe a couple of us could get together and sing some rocky top and instead of the WOOOOOO we could yelll DREWWWWWW

No way there are more Ole Miss football fans in Memphis than Tennessee...And nobody cheers for Memphis football if that's what you mean. Memphis bball sure.

I'm not specifically talking about football. Just what decals are on cars and all that nonsense.

Ole Miss and Memphis are def 1 and 2. Could be memphis then ole miss. Tennessee is 3rd though. My car for one is decked out in UT gear lol

Its NOTHING like eastern TN though where every other car has a UT front license plate or decal.

There are quite a few who support both Memphis and UT. I have several friends who grew up here and went to UT. They cross over. I grew up rooting for Memphis, too and enjoy seeing the football team succeed because they still don't influence the SEC. But I don't root for Memphis basketball anymore. There are a lot of UT fans in the suburbs.

I used to root for Memphis basketball just because it was my home town... but once we (tennessee) got good at basketball the way their fans acted towards us was ridiculous and I will never root for them again. And calipari is a total clown.

Alright, so a friend of mine was reading his MUS magazine and it listed the college choices of 2014 graduates. 18 went to OM, 17 went to UT. None went to Mississippi State.

UT is right up there with MUS grads. Distance isn't that much of a factor.

Wow, I graduated from there not too long ago and we maybe had 3-4 kids from my class go to UT. Its crazy to see how popular it is now.(not to say that I don't think it's a good thing)

How many were scholarship football players?

Obviously, it varies every year. But when I was at UT, I remember SAE being populated with private school kids, including many from Memphis.

God I hate Memphis. This place suuuucks. If not for the BBQ I'd say blow it off the map.

Maybe I'm just not used to it cuz I was away for quite some time.

I think only 1 scholarship football player went to OM, and that was the kicker. Normally, MUS doesn't have many high level D1 football players. Not on a Richmond level. They have some go to Memphis, Vandy, and other schools on that level. Next year, Tim Hart may get a look at some good schools.

Yeah I wouldn't think so with how small of classes they have. I don't know what parallels can or should be drawn between big time athletes and "regular" kids. But it can't be a bad thing that popularity with Tennessee is growing within the ranks. But then again it needs to be city wide not just one small private school.

I really don't see a lot of Memphis on the average day. I'm either in Germantown or just outside olive branch. I always see ole miss stuff on that drive. I rarely see Memphis or Tennessee stuff. Honestly though I would expect the average private school kid in Memphis to go to ole miss and vacation in destin lol
