I still live here and Tennessee is #1 or 2 in Memphis. Yes there are a lot of fan bases in Memphis, but they don't have the support that Tennessee does. Ole Miss is hard to gauge because so many people that live in Mississippi work in Memphis.
do it. Rocky top home sweet home to Drew!
No way there are more Ole Miss football fans in Memphis than Tennessee...And nobody cheers for Memphis football if that's what you mean. Memphis bball sure.
I'm not specifically talking about football. Just what decals are on cars and all that nonsense.
Ole Miss and Memphis are def 1 and 2. Could be memphis then ole miss. Tennessee is 3rd though. My car for one is decked out in UT gear lol
Its NOTHING like eastern TN though where every other car has a UT front license plate or decal.
There are quite a few who support both Memphis and UT. I have several friends who grew up here and went to UT. They cross over. I grew up rooting for Memphis, too and enjoy seeing the football team succeed because they still don't influence the SEC. But I don't root for Memphis basketball anymore. There are a lot of UT fans in the suburbs.
Alright, so a friend of mine was reading his MUS magazine and it listed the college choices of 2014 graduates. 18 went to MUS, 17 went to UT. None went to Mississippi State.
UT is right up there with MUS grads. Distance isn't that much of a factor.
Wow, I graduated from there not too long ago and we maybe had 3-4 kids from my class go to UT. Its crazy to see how popular it is now.(not to say that I don't think it's a good thing)
How many were scholarship football players?
I think only 1 scholarship football player went to OM, and that was the kicker. Normally, MUS doesn't have many high level D1 football players. Not on a Richmond level. They have some go to Memphis, Vandy, and other schools on that level. Next year, Tim Hart may get a look at some good schools.
