My sister went to Ole Miss. The first time I went down to visit her, I was incredibly annoyed by the fact that every guy, no matter where they came from, acted like they were the biggest redneck on the planet just because they were at Ole Miss. I'm as southern as they come, but there's just something odd about a guy that gets out of a Honda Civic hybrid with blue jeans, boots, a camo hat, and a spit cup in his hand.
If I was Butch I would not waste my time recruiting the Memphis area. Them kids grow up Ole miss fans and its to much time trying to get them from ole miss. I would put all my efforts towards the middle Tn state and Atlanta area. Richmond going to Ole miss was not a surprise at all!
Maybe my sarcasm meters busted but....WUT??
I may not have worded that response well. Just agreeing with leaving Memphis alone unless there's a legacy or a player that shows genuine interest. I wouldn't chase many of them though for the reasons he listed. When he mentioned the areas he would recruit instead I agreed but would also suggest hitting NC pretty hard... which we have and hopefully continue to do. We need to steal those guys right out from under the Heels and I believe we have better recruiters than USCe.
Ole Miss has a good coach, their program is on the rise too, kid didn't grow up a Tennessee fan. We're doing well with our line recruits. Move on.
All im saying is that its getting harder and harder to pull these kids out of the Memphis area. Especially seeing how Nashville and the middle TN st area is blowing up with talent. Think about it when was the last time we pulled a player out of Memphis that was worth his salt?
Yadda yadda yadda Another party yadda yadda yadda had numerous African American coaches over along with several local African American football studs and Cortez Kennedy to eat from my well-stocked kitchen and watch all the games on my 25 large screen TVs yadda yadda yadda. All of them said that the biggest issue facing UT recruiting is the small percentage of African American coaches on their team yadda yadda yadda. Until we get rid of some of these bald-headed, middle-aged Caucasian coaches, we will continue to have problems recruiting in Memphis, yadda yadda yadda. Watch out for that slick spot on the steps, Logan!Blah blah blah party blah blah Gus chicken blah blah I'm rich blah blah I'm biggest TN fan ever blah blah Memphis blah Cortez Kennedy blah blah~~~|~TNStud
