'15 TN OL Jack Jones (UT Commit 5/9/2013)

I think it's interesting how so many of our commitments who aren't necessarily ranked #1 at their positions end up being dominant at camps.

He's defintely a candidate to start at RT if need be. I don't think day 1 but if push comes to shove I wouldn't be as nervous as say Coleman Thomas playing RT

4-star lineman aren't supposed to stonewall 5-star DL in a one on one camp setting. Therefore the only logical move is to rank Jack a 5 star.

I can't wait to get this kid on campus. Regardless of what position he ends up playing or whether he ends up starting or contributing in 2015, he'll upgrade the competition on our OL and push our other guys. He brings the attitude we need up front.

Jack Jones is tied for my favorite along with Butcher, but he needs to red-shirt next year. We need to have enough guys who can play the oline, so we can build legitimate depth in '16 and '17

I have my fingers crossed that we will be able to avoid injuries in 2015 and redshirt all our incoming OL. That would be the best case scenario

I'm watching the Under Armour practice and the offense is doing walk throughs. I noticed Jones looks pretty small for a right tackle. He's really skinny compared to the other linemen. He's gonna need to gain about 20 lbs to really compete his first year

Yeah he does need some time to grow. He is also looking like one of the better tackles there while being lighter. Speaks about his potential.

I'm watching the Under Armour game now (DVR). Jack Jones is the real deal. He has been the most impressive commit that we have playing in this game. Byron Cowart (#2 espn 300) was lined up on him for most of the game and JJ rarely got beat. He may just be our starting right tackle next year.

The real best case scenario is where every single recruit is so exceptional that they beat out every current player on our roster. This of course is ridiculous, but how good would a DL need to be to beat out Barnett?

"We took the (loss) here but the main thing I was worried about was Tennessee," Jones said. "I played really well and Tennessee getting the victory makes this day pretty good and an end to a good week. I had a pretty good week. I was hype."

Jones made sure his future teammates knew the score at halftime of their game as he let everyone know the Vols were in the third quarter of a big bowl win.

"I saw when we went into halftime because Jack Jones had his phone on and I saw it was 42-7 in the third quarter," Butcher said. "That's huge because we're turning around from a losing season last year to a winning season. Now, clearly, everyone can see the progress. Now, with coach Jones' recruiting class coming in it's really going to be his team so it's going to be really good."

I would not be surprised one bit if he passes up a few existing players and gets a lot of playing time next year, especially if he can do it at RT. We are really thin on guys that play OT without some sort of shortcoming to their game, so the opportunity is there for him. Plus we will likely start three seniors next year, so the experience of getting snaps would help for 2016. But only if it is fairly significant snaps.
