'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

I could see this kid being the kid to commit on Butch's birthday. He loves him.

Looks at offer list...

Per Galilee on VQ:

"Kyle Phillips is very very high on the Vols.
Talked to family today. Mom is a Vandy grad but CBJ has been very impressive."

For those that don't know, and Ron or any other VQ guy can clarify, I'm pretty sure Galilee is the Principal at a Memphis HS. Could be wrong....

But very good news nonetheless

No idea but Galilee knows some stuff. That's random since he seems to mostly speak of west tn kids but I'll take it!

He used to be AD at Memphis Mitchell IIRC. Not sure how his position now.

Galilee is in some kind of administration position in Memphis, not sure exactly what. He's one of the better posters on VQ. He doesn't post often but when he does it's to share good information.

He could be the 3rd DE in the 240-245lb range for the 2015 UT class. IMO he might want to jump on it pretty quick if he wants to be a Vol. Doubt there is any way to take more than 3-4 DEs with a smaller class.

It's January.

It's early. My point is that there can only be so many kids taken for each position. Butcher and Jackson are already holding 2 of those spots. If the class is only 18-20 as some think it may be, certain spots will be filled very early IMO. DE, OL are looking like possibilities.

In-State, high 4* talent. He has a spot lol

2-3 years maybe he does. A 240LB kid is a long way from playing OT in the SEC. I concur, I love the pick up as well.

If only he was a '15 recruit that could maybe just hang out on the hill and work out for a year after he arrives. Seems like that would fix everything!

I think the staff will have a spot in each class for a lineman athlete. What I mean by that is a spot for someone who can play on either the offensive or defensive line. In the 2014 class it is Jashon, and in 2015 it's Dylan. Point is that we may still take 2 more DEs or one pure DE and a tweener that may have the frame to grow into a DT.

Regardless of who is in your class Kyle PHillips gets a spot. He has that much upside.
