When I worked at McDonalds in Powell many many years ago, he came thru the drive thru and didn't know who he was at the time. It was in a Saturday morning and I remember saying to him, "I hope the Vols win today." He said, "I sure hope so." As I said it never dawned on me who he was until later that night during the game. I was like, OMG, that was John Chavis.

He lived in subdivision on West Emory road. I think it was called Norte Villar or something like that. I always ran into him at the Weigles at Clinton highway and Emory rd. I think a lot of his family still lives in the Powell/Halls area.

Our coaches on twitter seem like to be pumping up recruiting a lot today, which usually hints at an impending commitment..

Any time they do this there is a commitment soon after. They don't build up a 50/50 guy to get burned, it's been money 100% of the time as they usually get the commitment over the phone well ahead of the public announcement (today).

Phillips must be a Vol, and must've already told the coaches ahead of his announcement.. Vols baby!
