'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

Some of you guys are acting like bleeding vaginas right now. If you can't take the suspense stfu and ignore the thread. I guess some have to get their shots in early.

He will prolly transfer after year one. Kids that are this uncertain by now may second guess the crap out of their decision even after the fact. Sort of buyers remorse.

Yeah I agree with you on this one. I could see this guy "not being with the team to handle some personal issues" by game 6. If we get him great but if we don't would care much at all. Has Hendrix written all over this situation.

Or he is 17-18 years old and is making one of the biggest decisions of his life. I'm not a fan of the twitter stuff, but if our fans didn't make him feel like a rock star by bombarding his twitter feed every 5 seconds with some bi polar nonsense he probably wouldn't be wearing on people so heavily. With or without him we have a top 5 class with the possibility of Jones, Love, and Allen/St. Louis to round it out. I'm just glad we have a coach who puts finishing touches on classes before signing day, as opposed to holding out for 5 or 6 'big fish' only for our class to be a disappointment down the road.

Gosh this recruitment we're up we're down - what is skeeter saying today anyone know? I remember him being spot on about a lot of things in the past. Didn't think Ole Miss was in it to this degree it just seems like no one knows at this point.

Agree. Kyle is a confused kid. He has a lot to get right with his decision. He has a Mom who is probably giving him good advice also.

If you are down about it go take a look at who is committed on the defensive front. If you are still down, put your homerism in a drawer and lock it so you can think clearly again.

Agree. It's not like we have zero DE commits. We have 3 big time DE commits in Butcher, Ford and Taylor.

Phillips really would help take it to another level because he is the total package with his size and pass rush ability. The other 3 are currently undersized guys with top end pass rush ability. Phillips would be more likely of them to give solid reps day 1. The other 3 would need time to develop in weight room. At the same time we have Barnett/Maggit/Lewis/Vereen next year so we don't have to have immediate impact guy.

If he is trying to mess with folks he is doing a good job, if you go by his comments lately you would think LSU or Ole missy but if he is trying to shock folks it's Tennessee. I still like our chances. GO VOLS!!!!

haha at this thread. I hope when he commits he mentions some of the posts on here. Gonna feel like a bunch of idiots when says Vol fans were trashing him on message boards.

Really thinking UT is where he ends up. Mostly because he is an EE and has a comfort level with the people and staff. Also knows McKenzie pretty well, knows many others on the team. LSU would only be Ugo and really doesn't know many at Ole Miss. I can only see Ole Miss if Ugo flips back to them. Anyhow we will know Saturday and really am happy with the class we have right now.

Kid works out with guys affiliated with the UT program, has family that wants him at UT, is getting recruited hard right now by UT commits (aka orange brainwashing lol), has a good relationship with current players and the coaching staff. He's having some fun and making the biggest decision so far in his life, give the kid some space and give the negativity a rest; it is not helping the situation.

And Hendrix leaving has absolutely nothing to do with Phillips, two different people, two different personalities.

Both sites are saying it's Ole Mi$$ tomorrow. A little surprising he'd pick the JUCO of the SEC if academics really were an important factor like we were led to believe. Of course Ole Mi$$ has been the new flava of the month for all the bandwagon fans in Nashville since Franklin bolted from Vandy.

I'm guessing Ugo flips back to them again. If true, it seems that both of them wanted to keep TN in final 2, in order to just rub it in more. If we were in Kyle's final 2 with LSU and LSU was eliminated when Chavis left, then it seems we would have been the next logical choice.

Yeah they just liked the attention considering TN brought. Especially Amadi and the way he handled his recruitment. I wouldn't even expect his drama from the #1 prospect in the country. I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come with how IFM kids are going to handle their recruitments in the future.

This is what I'll be watching for. I'm hoping this is just a one off, if we do miss on all of them.
