'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

No doubt...that's a solid freshman season. What Barnett has done is absolutely phenomenal. I can't wait to see what kind of player he is in a couple years...especially with the DTs we have headed to Knoxville.

The best part imo is that Stripling is the real deal as a dline coach so you these guys are going to be taught the right way. We should have a dominant dline by 2016 if not 2015.

True. Not expecting Barnett to have a season like this every year but 60 tackles/15 TFL/ 8 sacks I think is defintley possible for him. Also he is definitely a candidate to leave after his junior season but with the way we are crutin' that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Your spot on.StripLing can coach and develope.

Stripling played at Colorado with one of my good friend's father.

Stripling is great but also sounds like we may have a Star GA in Walter Stewart as well. Hubbs multiple times has said he deserves a ton of credit for Maggits recent success. He helped teach him that dip under move and its be on like Donkey Kong ever since.

That dip under is sick. Dude is super low at lightening speed.

I mean just look at the development of our undersized defensive tackles. Just imagine what he can do with a couple of elite 320 hosses. If I were a linebacker I would be beating down the door to play for the cold right now.

Told Danny Parker he would like to decide about a week after his official to UT. Josh Woodward of Inside Tennessee said "things seem to be trending towards Tennessee." Fwiw

I hope Woodward is right because as of right now I am seeing a lot of Ole Miss tweets from this kid

One of the Maggitt sacks (don't remember if he had more than one) in the Vandy game, you could see him about to use the upper cut move to leverage past the tackle, but he was so quick, the tackle didn't even get his hands on him. So, Curt's move was in air, and he quickly realized he didn't need it. It was awesome to watch that replay.

You may be right about Amadi, but I still think we get Phillips.

I hope you're right. I would think Chris Kiffin's checkered past (arrests and all that) would definitely be a big red flag and negative for the family, considering he'd be his position coach there.

Looking more like Amadi will end up at Ole Miss. I see that supported by the late push we are making for some CBs. I think Phillips still likes UT and wants to play with Perry so I think we end up with Phillips.

I wouldn't mind adding Amadi but I'm not that upset if we miss on him either as long as we land Phillips.

Coach Stewart is a very good teacher of the pass rush. He is also a great inspirational story for these players. Had a tough/rough upbringing (became a foster child) and would be in the NFL if not for a medical condition. Deserves a lot of credit for improving UT's pass rush.

I think this is going to be his last year as being able to serve as a GA. Would love to see him stay around at some capacity.

Is there a job they can give him...or create for him?
