Taylor and Walker are better prospects IMO for what we need. Phillips is a Barnett/Butcher type and we need more speed rushers atp.

Amadi I am not gonna shed a tear for either. I think we are in great shape with much better CBs.

Give us Walker and Justin Martin and I would say we got the better end of the deal.

If we get Walker in place of Philips I think we got the better player IMO. Hate to lose out on an in-state player but Walker is good. Real good.

Getting both is ideal. Luckily, we have Butcher to play SDE along with D.Jackson. Taylor, Ford, and Walker would be the best WDE class I've seen here in a very, very long time. Heck, the entire d-line class is the best we have had here in over a decade. :rock:

Four-star defensive end*Kyle Phillips*out of Nashville (Tenn.) Hillsboro is down to five finalists for his commitment. Following a recent decision, the timeline for that commitment becomes even more compressed as Phillips plans to enroll early a his college of choice.

The no. 2 player in the state of Tennessee, Phillips is considering Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU and Alabama for his commitment along with Tennessee State. He says all of the programs he's considering are excited about him enrolling early.

This weekend Phillips will take an unofficial visit to Ole Miss for the matchup against Alabama. As of yet, he hasn't scheduled any official visits.

Though Ugo Amadi and Kyle Phillips won't be among the myriad visitors this weekend on Rocky Top, look for the two Midstate stars to be on Rocky Top at month's end for the Vols' clash with Alabama. Amadi and Phillips are major priorities for Tennessee, and Butch Jones has taken a commanding lead role in their recruitments. Welton, whose NFL experience as well as background as a high school coach continue to prove invaluable, also is a popular person with both Amadi and Phillips.

You gotta think having two true freshmen in barnett and hendrix at 1-2 in our starting lineup has to have some negative effect on these elite sde. Add another elite 2015 guy in butcher and im not too worried about losing this dude. Sure hes instate and a heck of a player but i think weve got bigger positions of need.
