Like I said, I made the comment as a joke anyway but let's see what happens to this officiating crew.
95% of the people on VN will admit that the officials missed a couple dozen holding calls on Oklaholdma so will anything be done to "correct" or discipline them? If nothing is done to correct this crew then that would tell me that the Conference office either don't care or they have no problem with how the game was called. The other possibility is that these officials are so sorry and worthless that they don't know what it takes to get a holding call. If UT sends them a tape of the game and "hi-lites" the holds and nothing is said or done at that point then who is responsible for their poor performance? The lack of action goes to the top and that is Slive (or whoever is over the officials).

This and a little more. We did run block much better in the second half. Also, this line isn't terrible, inexperienced yes. I'm not saying we will come out and dominate Georgia (aka-Nationdom), but I hoping our young guys, going up against that Oklahoma defense makes them realize they are going to have to go to war every single play to compete at this level. They have to develop that nastiness as a unit! Hopefully they grew up a lot in that Oklahoma game, come ready to fight their butts off. Give Worley some time and open up some holes and we can beat Georgia. Once again, not saying we will dominate their oline but we have a great shot at winning some oline battles in this game. Make them and imo we win! O:)

I doubt we dominate UGA's dline, but UGA does not have a very good defense. They have an extremely weak secondary and an average front 7. Add to the fact that the oline played MUCH better in the second half and they are coming off a bye, its not that crazy.

When I said dominate, it was a bit of an exaggeration, however I still expect the O line to come out and have a great game.

Well, this thread got weird today. Lol @ thinking they would throw that game for Slive. Also, they weren't only SEC refs. There were Big 10 refs as well. It's more likely OU paid them than Slive threatening them.. and neither of which did happen. The refs just let the boys play for 95% of the game. There were a bunch of calls missed for both sides. Ours were just more blatant

All the officials on the field were from the SEC. The official or officials in the booth were from the Big 12 (or whatever it's called now).
Like I've said twice now I said it as a joke about Slive but when offensive linemen tackle our DL players and our jerseys are stretched out about 2 feet behind the player when they're being held and the Referee stands and watches a defensive player slam his elbow into our QB's head that is way beyond "letting the boys play".
JMO but if Oklaholdma had been hit with 3 or 4 holding calls early in the 1st quarter it would have stopped there. When they seen it wasn't going to be called, that was how they played every play for the entire game.

Edit: Sorry to be acting like Bruin but the sorry officiating in that game was uncalled for. Allowing that kind of crap to go on is how players get hurt. What if Worley had got a concussion and had to miss 2 or 3 games from the head blow?

He absolutely did. My problem comes with the extent of the punishments he received. It's water under the bridge now, but his actions didn't match the punishment he received. The punishments placed on Pearl and UT leads me to believe that the SEC and NCAA either wanted to make an example out of us, or there was more to the story then all of us know.

A well respected poster on VQ said Thigpen will be spending the day with Phillips and his family tomorrow at the TSU game. He also said that Phillips' father's side are big time vol fans.

UT fits what he is looking for and three other SEC schools seem to fit the mold also. Lets be clear here, my grandfather and I and my other cousin are pushing UT!--I hope we all can make it to a game this year. We had a blast at the GA game last year.....

This post was from Kyle Phillips' cousin back on 8/28 and supports the belief that he has family members in favor of UT and that his mom isn't against us either.

All of this. Other coaches have done worse than Pearl and received less punishment.

Friend of mine with decent connections told me with the 15 class almost done.That Butch wants too have the #1 class in 16 and 17 and has had Thig on a mission for this.That's why you haven't heard a lot of chatter about him for 15 recruits.But just in case we need him.We all know Thig gonna Thig.
