'15 TN DE Dylan Jackson (former UT commit)

Has he recently said he was taking visits or something? Seen a few saying hope he stays a vol ....what's up

Read he had 4 tackles and a batted ball. Saw they ran away from him for the most part.

Lulz. I think he sticks at DE. But, we will see. He really may end up a OT. Seems like he doesn't have the frame, IMO.

I think he's best suited as a SDE. I watched him last night and no one wanted to run to his side. He's a big guy. He'll easily hold 20-30 pounds of good weight. I could see him being a SDE at 270-275. I think he'll be a very good run stopper for us in time. I don't expect to see much of him any time soon with Barnett and Hendrix in front of him right now. He's a solid project player though that should add quality depth to our D-line in due time.

Agreed. I like his height as a defensive end. He gets those arms up on a screen and he might get some picks. And he plays with great pad level for such a tall guy.

I agree 100%. Perfect position for him IMO.

I agree. :)

Don't be surprised if he and butcher play next year

Butcher maybe, Jackson I just don't see it. He plays WDE for Maryville, and his best asset isn't pass rushing it's containing the run. He has a very good understanding of how to force plays into the right gaps to allow his teammates to make plays. He doesn't have the weight or strength to do this off the bat for us. Plus, CBJ has formed a foundation that should prevent freshman from playing right away unless they are elite players. I also think they many of us, myself including, forget that we still have Joe Hendrson, J. Johnson, L. Lewis, and J. Miller who should produce in time for us. Miller, Lewis, and Johnson will all play this year for us, and Henderson will most likely redshirt. That's some good talent that will have ample experience by the time Butcher and Jackson get here. That's not even taking in account for Hendrix, Barrnett, Vereen, Maggit, and Weatherd. I'm very excited about the furture of our D-line and O-line, especially if we land guys like Shy Tuttle and Richmond. I also think Henderson will be a solid pass rusher for us, and don't rule out Ford coming here and playing as a freshman because he's got some very good pass rushing skills.

Certainly seems like it could be a log jam at DE. Nice problem to have.

I wouldn't call him a project but I agree with everything else. Projects don't get offers from the chief jmo

I disagree. Not saying he won't play DE, but he has the potential frame for LT.

He just doesn't look big enough to me. He's got the height for sure, but I feel like he is not broad enough across the chest and shoulders. Also, not sure he has the length to get the separation necessary to play LT. But, we will see. Maybe he does turn into a tackle. I am constantly proved wrong. I am no scholar. I just look at guys like Gilliam, Blair, or Richardson and I don't see it.

What? Kid is huge and frame could easily translate.
Just relax people. He would be great on either side.
Seems like I saw him playing some O-line. Big athletic and not a slacker. Legit, and the offers confirm.
