Fitzpatrick plays for Team Penny, not Team
Thad, he may have been listed on their roster, but he's been playing with Team Penny in EYBL.

It could, there's been a lot of talk that Team Thad pushed their players to not attend Memphis or any other in state school. Whether that's backed up by facts, I haven't done the research, but I know that's the talk from a lot of Memphis fans.

Now that very well could be sour grapes from them not landing some guys that played for Team Thad, as I said I truly don't know.

Interesting. I was just looking at Fitzpatrick's Rivals page, which says Team Thad. Do you know if Memphis is really pursuing Fitzpatrick? I am sure you know that the Lawson's play on Team Penny, and they just fell short of winning the Peach Jam Title.

It would be interesting to look at past players on Thad's team, but my guess is that Thad tells his players that there is more to life than just Memphis and that he succeeded by leaving. Would find it hard to believe that they have an agenda to push them out.

Fitzpatrick may have played some for Thad, I'm not really sure, I just know that he was definitely with Penny lately.

Verbal Commits shows Memphis with 12 scholarship players, no seniors, and Lawson as a commit. So as of today they would have a full 13 scholarships accounted for, now I'm sure like most there's some attrition possible.

My guess though is that they aren't pushing Fitzpatrick too hard, they're probably targeting a guy like Skal primarily. If they've gotta make room for someone it's gonna be a highly rated guy.

I would guess that's why Tennessee is in a good spot with Fitzpatrick, they've probably made him much more of a priority than Memphis has, and actually has room for him.

Didn't think about that. Yep, I think its Skal or nothing at this point. The recent news is that Ole Miss may actually be the better option for Skal. His guardian wants to keep him close, and Memphis will most likely still have Goodwin and Nichols. If he is legitimate, he can play anywhere for a year and go pro.

I've heard that about Ole Miss too, but think ultimately he ends up at Memphis, Pastner missing on him paired with a bad season might dial up the temp a few degrees.

If CDT is serious about locking down the state, he should start with Knoxville and then work his way to Chattanooga, Nashville and then Memphis because outside of Stokes, Bradshaw and Tony Harris, UT has not had a lot of luck in recruiting Memphis.

On an annual basis, there isn't much at all in East TN. Every once in a while, a high level D1 prospect will come around. So, there is no reason to worry about that. In a normal year, the state really only has about a half dozen D1 prospects, and there are 3 instate programs competing for them. Of course, Memphis has always been tough, but that is why Tyndall hired Pinkins. You can take advantage of a year in Memphis when the U of M doesn't have many open scholarships. Plus, most areas in west TN outside of Memphis are Big Orange Country. It is also why Atlanta will always be important to UT.

Ok? Well he's got all the 2015 D1 high major level prospects in East Tennessee locked down so.....

BTO or someone who might know does Tennessee lead for Marshall? He is a big 6-9 PF from Lexington TN. I would love to add for the 2015 class. I think he would fit perfectly for CDT

I watched him beat Georgia last night on a prayer of a play with 24 seconds left. I did not know he was still playing HS BBall.

@JohnMartin929: Lexington (TN) 2015 center Nick Marshall is on a visit to Memphis. 6-11 big man Memphis has prioritized recently.

Pretty sure there are many UT fans in that area. Even though its closer to Memphis, alot of rural west TN is Big Orange Country.
