Kids going to be a good one. Could play several positions.

People are quick to bring up his offer sheet. However, if not for the transfer rules (missing most of his JR season) and the ACL injury (before his senior yr.) VP would have garnered much more attention both in (recruiting site) ratings and Power 5 schollys.

He's going to surprise ppl. We have yet to see his total pkg., and just how good he truly is.

Anyone else notice how high and tight he carries the ball when he runs? Ain't nobody getting the ball from him!

Well, if he's 100% healthy no one is getting the ball from him anyways because he's going to blow right past everyone on the field. Perry has elite speed. He's the reason we backed off Love. As long as he's healthy, he'll be the weapon our offense lacks.

Speaking of his speed... I just saw a tweet stating he ran a '6.60 60 yard'. I know how to translate 40 times and 100 times in relation to football, but 60's I don't know how to translate that. Is that fast? Elite fast or just decently fast? Can someone give me a approximate 40 comparison, please? -Thanks

To give you an idea, Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson, Andruw Jones, and Ken Griffey Jr. all ran 6.6 60's. So, it's definitely great speed.

lol... I get the idea of the distance. What I was trying to grasp is if a 6.60 60 would be considered 'elite speed'. Like say a 4.4 40 is pretty darn fast and a 4.3ish 40 is top shelf speed. So I was trying to figure out if 6.60 is in the 4.5 40 range or the 4.3ish 40 range. But thanks anyway.

Baseball has never been my sport so I don't recognize most of those names. Ken Griffey Jr. I know. Ok, so 6.60 is "great speed". Good enough for me. Thanks

When I searches 60 times, it popped up Maurice Green US Olympic sprinter went 6.39 FWIW.

I played baseball my whole life and have run the 60 too many times. It is by far the worst physical measurement for baseball, hands down. Never will you run 60 yards in a straight line.I fanything, its better for football. That being said, 6.6 60 is well above average, I mean well above, but not ridiculous.

FYP *flamesuit activated*

Leb- I think I've got it. I still wouldn't mind seeing a 40 time for Perry just for S's and G's. I guess I'm wondering if he's going to have that extra gear to turn the corner or outrun the angle, or is he going to be more like Devrin Young who is fast, but just not elite fast. (Btw- I have tons of respect for Young. That guy has tons of heart.)

Catbone- Don't put words in my mouth. No flames for you. lol... smh.

Yeah 60 times mean little to nothing in baseball

So something like a 4.4 40, but not a 4.3ish 40. Ballpark. Ok. Thanks.

Reports I've read have said Perry has plenty of edge speed, even for the SEC.

Nice.

If the talent that seems to be on the team currently and that's coming in this next class can just stay healthy and live up to the potential they're suppose to have... wow... should some fun UT football to watch.

No doubt. Just have to focus on keeping them around long enough to benefit from signing them.

True. I sometimes wonder how Saban manages to keep 4 and 5 star kids sitting on the bench for multiple seasons while he continues to recruit over them each year. I doubt it's his sunny disposition or the moon pies.

I do think when cbj took so many highly rated kids in one class last year that the staff had to know that there would probably be a pretty high rate of attrition. And if you look at who has left -and their position- and who we are bringing in this class -and their position- it seems to me to at least suggest that maybe the staff wasn't too shocked or broken up over who was leaving. They might have even shone some of them the door because they knew they wouldn't see the field. Of course, that's just speculation.
