Sorry, I guess I'm crazy for wanting someone who actually makes positive yardage returning a punt.
Young was actually one of the better returners on paper last year. If you're talking numbers, which I'm pretty sure you are, then your argument is null, void, and stupid.
Do some research before you try and act like you know what you're talking about.
I'm talking about being a threat to return a kick for a TD, which he is not. See, you can have a discussion without trying to be insulting.
Sorry if already been asked but does this most likely mean jaylond woods is no longer in the picture.
Given the limited number of ships it does not add up for me. The #28 rated prospect with offers from MTSU and Memphis. It isn't going to kill the class but it isn't the kind of recruit taking us back to the promised land. Of course you can always say every rating service is incorrect or ratings don't matter.....
You're just mad because you're a Cottrell fanboy. You get off every time you hear his name.
Probably because you are A. bad at math, or B. have no clue how to evaluate prospects for a system that is run by our head coach.
Do us all a favor and post less. Please.
DY actually was close to breaking a few returns for a TD last year. Reminds me of Eric Parker.
Can't wait to have a true home run threat back at KR/PR in the mold of a Brandon James/Holliday. That ll be fun to watch.
Look up our longest punt return last year.
Spoiler: it was just barely enough for a 1st down.
You don't have to be a math genius to see the number 28 beside his state ranking. Think about that for a minute..27 better players in Tenn. Is he flying under the radar to the extent that every other SEC team simply overlooked him......I doubt it. I hope he becomes an AA but I am just saying why offer ths player so early with bigger fish out there to be had.
Number 28 according to who? Are the recruiting services the end all be all of evaluating players? This kid could be the best to ever wear orange. And with his hard work and no fear attitude, I wish we had 84 others just like him.
It also didn't help that his 1st 2 years he played under the Dooley regime that would slow anyones development.DY ranks 4th ALL TIME at UT for KO return yards. He ranks 5th ALL TIME for KO/PR yards. 4th on that list is Stanley Morgan. DY has accounted for about 1800 yards in his time at UT. I'd imagine his development has been slowed a bit flip flopping between RB/WR/and back again. IMO the kid is doing just fine.

Rankings matter until they hit the field. 5* will not help a player execute. I'm not saying rankings don't matter. They are a cool tool but do they miss some? They also hit on many. I myself am going to trust the man getting paid millions and whose ass is on the line every year before I do a recruit ranking paid service. Just me though. The same people who rank Alabama's class #1 each year. I guess it is just a coincidence that they also compete for a national title every year. If there is no credence to recruiting rankings then why were we excited about UT's class this year. Why we we disappointed with Dooley's recruiting.....that was lowly rated by the services? Which correlated with horrible on field results. Rankings matter, enough said.
My point was that when we first offered Pearson he was unranked and we were his only offer. It was after we offered he blew up and was named the #2 JUCO WR.
