'15 NM QB Zach Gentry

Im personally not worried much about the lines or any other position except QB. Yeah the lines are young but very talented and havent been under different coaching styles and most are going through their 2nd time in this S&Cp. I dont care what anyone says about Dobbs though, from my veiw point, he was not impressive and got worse, not better. Thats concerning. And as far as Worley, I felt we won the USCjr game dispite him really. We must have something better in Fergy to have a better record IMO. If Peterman steps onto the field this year, its an EXTREMELY bad sign. Ill say 8-10 wins if Fergys good, 5-6 if not.

I have been saying that as well about Dobbs. I didn't expect him to beat Ala, Mizzou or AU but atleast expected that he would show improvement in the passing game, making better reads, being more accurate and some better pocket presence and he just went the wrong way and looked worse every game. Some focus on the UK game but that is an aweful secondary, defense and team. He has no touch on his passes and his deep ball, if you wanna call it that flutters and usually has nothing on it. His arm strength will have to improve significantly. Reading defense's, the game slowing down will come but accuracy must improve, pocket presence will have to improve and arm strength if that is possible. Just didn't see a lot of upside in him to make me confident that he can get it done. Between him and Worley we have 2 inaccurate and weak armed QB's you will aee. Still dont think Peterman is as bad as some think. He still has a good arm, good size and mobility but i'm on the Fergy bandwagon. Has the most upside and the other 3 are a distant 2,2a and 2b just based off film of them all.

our playmakers on O are at a whole different talent/experience level than what we had last year

Pig and North now have a year of solid PT under their belt - and Helm/VP/Malone are big time talent additions

on D we lose a Dline that really did nothing most of the year - will it be great, prob not, but it wasnt last year either so not a huge loss

our back 7 2 deep will be significantly more talented than it was last year - CM coming back, AJ returning, JRM having a year in the system - CS and BR coming back in the secondary - and then the significant influx of talent at LB and DB will make that group significantly better

im not saying we win the SEC - but 5 wins just isnt going to cut it this year - this is not an equivalent talent level to what we fielded last year at all - and the schedule is easier

I agree with most of your points. The defensive line wasn't good by any means, i don't see it being any worse, in fact i believe it will be better.

Imo every phase of our Vols will improve but the oline. A tad concerned about that with the depth and experience.

I believe we will be able to pass significantly better, therefore opening up the run game and play action. This will help whoever is under center. I would like to see what Fergy has to offer, but may the best man win.

I would not be opposed to seeing Peterman again. First career start in the swamp is not an easy
task.

8-10 wins if Ferg is "good"....? Lol he better be a better passing version of Tebow back there. At least our fans know how to temper their expectations with a team that is still EXTREMELY young. One good recruiting class and now we should be good again, nope, they don't even get a year to develop just as long as our freshman QB is "good". If you're going to pick a year that we may win 8+ games it's the year after this IMO. And that you put it all on Riley is laughable, a difference of 5 games one way or the other? I don't even know if Johnny football would make that kind of difference. So he's either going to be the best QB in the SEC or the worst.

I can see us possibly winning 8 games IF some of our EE's come around like we all hope they do. If we have a competitive QB and the OL does well there's a good possibility that will happen. I think our RB and receiver situation will be vastly improved so that will be a big plus for us. I'd say we'll have a better feel for things after Spring practice is over.

I cannot understand why so many here get caught up predicting how many wins we'll have. Nobody expected much from either Auburn (not even in the NC 2010 season), or Mizzou, this year.

If you had said Auburn would be the SECCG winner and in the NC, rather than bamer....everyone would have laughed at that. So, it makes no sense, whatsoever. Not even worth the time it takes to type it out.

Just be cautiously optimistic and hope for the best. We'll pull out of this Fulmer/Kiffin/Dooley funk soon....and when we do, very few will see it coming.

The key to getting to a bowl this year, IMO will be getting an upset early in the season. We really need to beat UF at home.

I hate to see it come down to having to win our final 3 in a row to get to 6, but we will have Mizzou at home which will help. UK and Vandy will be wins.

Jayson Swain tweeted a list of 4 guys that he thought were at the top of our board, and Gentry wasn't in it. It was Gibson, Stidham, Lock, and some kid I'd literally never heard of.

Wimbush looks like the real deal. I hope our staff pushes hard for him and Gentry, but IMO Wimbush's arm and release are better than any other QB on our 2015 board. Does anyone know if he has shown much interest in Tn?

I'm guessing that it's because it's a message board and gives people something fun to speculate and talk about. And it's not even worth the time to type it out? I don't think it takes much time/effort to type out a few sentences if you know how to type at all. What's the point of even being a member and posting in the the recruiting forum at all using that logic...might as well just make this forum nothing but articles. The majority of the threads started and posts in them are about prospects who won't end up signing with UT after all yet we still post in them. I don't want to argue but I guess I just don't get where you were coming from with that post but maybe it's just me.

I just dont get why people care if other people speculate on win/loss numbers. Who walks up to a convo their not even involved in and says "I dont get why you all would talk about that"?

Someone told him he forgot Gentry on the list and Swayne said he couldn't fit him with 140 characters but he's even with all of them.

Per scout, we are his only visit currently set up for the spring/summer. He said that UT is the only place he is "itching" to see. His brother plays for New Mexico. He has a great bond with Bajakian and seems to really like the Vols. I think he chooses UT by the end of summer, if not sooner. Spring game is the date he is looking to visit
