Gentry is very high on Tennessee after his visit but is still planning on visiting Oklahoma State this weekend and then Alabama for their spring game on April 19.
After those visits, there's also a chance that he visits Texas before he does something but it wouldn't be a surprise if he made a decision in the next month to six weeks and as of right now it's hard not to like Tennessee's chances.
But, the Cowboys see Gentry as a top target as well and may end up being Tennessee's biggest competition when it's all said and done.
I'm torn between what combo of Gibson/Jennings/Gentry I'd rather have.
The biggest staple in jake's offense is the zone read. Jennings & Gibson have a leg up on Gentry running the ball, but Gentry is mobile as well. One thing I wouldn't want Gentry doing is running a lot & risk taking a shot to those legs since he's so tall.
Gentry clearly has more arm talent than the other two though. Oh well..I'm just happy to actually have this problem.
I don't think his 'arm talent' is that much superior to Gibson or Jennings. Gibson's ability to read defenses is better than Gentry and Gentry is slow(4.9 40). Also Gibson has something you can't teach and DC will have to take extra time to scheme around and that's his athleticism.
If I have to choose between Gentry and Jennings though I take Gentry all day long.

Crystal ball picks: Tennessee 83%, oklahoma state 17%
tennessee has been widely viewed as one of the teams to beat for the four-star quarterback since he received an offer from the vols in december, and his first visit to ut last weekend did nothing to change that. The last five picks on gentrys crystal ball, including a recent prediction from 247sports justin hopkins, all have been for the vols, although gentry is visiting oklahoma state this weekend.
The only other team on his list I would be worried about is Texas. They will have the advantage of distance and the coaching staff with the best quarterback development. Strong has proven his ability to develop a QB with Bridgewater. He will use that in recruiting Gentry and ask who have the other staffs developed? Also, how will the cities of Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, and Austin compare to a kid from New Mexico?
I hope that he comes here and realizes that Tennessee is a special place just as Mr. Manning did. Our advantage right now is what we have in facilities and receivers on campus. All of the rest of his recruiting lies in Butch's salesmanship.

Name one time a QB will run a straight 40 yard dash in a game. I don't care what te numbers say he plays fast enough to make plays with his feet when it is needed
He plays fast enough yes, especially for his size.
To your question, the zone read gives the QB an opportunity to make a play. If it's blocked correctly, the QB will have a chance to take it over 40 Yds.
That's one of the perks with Gibson, no one could run him down and he has some moves for someone that's 6'4". Gentry is capable of running the zone read but you're not gonna see him rip off many huge gains. Which isn't really a knock in him, it's just the way he plays.
