Interesting thought, but I'm not so sure. Right before he committed to us Reid's recruitment was really picking up. He had gotten offers from Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, WVU and NCST in just the prior month and a half. I think he is kind of a gem in a smaller area, and was just starting to get noticed before he shut it down. It especially means a lot to me that Wisconsin offered him. They seem to specialize in 6'0'' 220 lb. sized RBs. In other words, I think his rating is artificially low. As many other posters have shared, recruiting sites tend to rate the prospects that do the most camping the highest. Reid doesn't do much of that from my understanding.

His junior film is great. He shows a bit of everything power, speed, vision, cutting ability, and balance. He doesn't give up on a play either. He can be a good rb for us.

I'd love to keep reid and be done at RB this year but do you keep him and turn down Love, Weber or Williams if they want to jump on board? I don't think we can take 3 this cycle so we would have swap our Reid.

No reason at all to take any more than 2. Also no reason to worry about replacing Reid or Kamara. Just roll with what you have and be glad you got those 2 early. IMO both backs are great fits for Tennessee. Weber, Williams, Love, all had a shot to choose UT. They missed the boat. IMO, nothing to see here.

you just dont like the stars im guessing? pretty obvious you havent seen much else. Hurd, Kamara, Scott and Paulk are studs. Reid is a 220lb+ back that will compliment them. Thats what we need. Honestly sounds like you saw his rating and promptly came over to write this. He may not get a 4th star btw but he will probably get a little boost at some point. hes a workhorse.

Precisely this. Bryce Love and Kamara are similar type backs. We don't need both of them.

I would assume we will not recruit those guys as hard anymore. Stay in contact just in case but not heavily pursue. Also we likely were not going to get any of those 3 at the end of the day. Just because we were top 3 doesn't mean we weren't going to end up bridesmaids.

I think Reid is an awesome catch! Will be a heck of Bruiser RB. I think the coaches are trying to get at least one big RB and a Scat RB every year. Or at least have a balance attack of both. Which i think is a great idea.

I like a big RB who is fast and will run over or through most of his tackles! Thats my idea RB and Reid fits that mold.

This guy is that 4th qt.hammer that we have been needing to close a game out.I agree with the above poster who liked him because he had a Wisconsin offer.If they offered him that's all I need to see.

That's a little skewed due to him getting the amount of touches in a season that others have throughout their career

Actually I'd disagree. Those two are the perfect fits for the type of offense they run. Plus they would both be coming in with different eligibility clocks. Kamara has 3 to play 3 I believe but it's unlikely he'll be around for more than 2 years. I think he'll even be draft eligible after 1. I would think they'd absolutely take Love if he wanted to jump on board.

It would be nice to have both Kamara and Love but I wouldn't say we NEED them both. If we hadn't signed Scott last year then I would agree taking both Kamara and Love would make more sense.

we take love weber or fraiser period. it will be three rbs if its one of those. you simply dont turn away one of those kids.

I'd agree they don't necessarily need them both, but I really have a hard time believing they'll stop recruiting Love. And yes I agree on Scott. He was such a huge pickup down the stretch. I think he's going to be playing a LOT this season. I cant believe some on here are debating whether or not to redshirt him.

Yea, I don't disagree. I said we don't necessarily need them not that we don't want them. Although it doesn't seem like Weber or Frasier are realistic anyway.

Hope his team chills out on all those carries. I don't care how good a kid is or how much you need him. 400+ carries is too much. Save those legs for the next level(s).

Scott is severely underrated on this board. He could be a very good SEC back.

Scott has the potenial to be a great SEC RB.

I don't see us getting rid of Reid. I'm excited to see him run. 5'10" and probably finishes up at about 230-235 lbs. He has third/fourth and short and fourth quarter bruiser written allover him.

Keep all day IMO

Love is the only RB that I can see the coaching heavily pursuing at this point. You don't turn away a kid with his type of speed an game breaking ability.
