I would not call 6-6 turning it around. Win 1 more game IMO is a step in the right direction and nothing more. As I have said before, I'll take it as a bowl game is a must this year. 7-5 would be a good season for this team. Before I consider it turning it around, I'll need to see a 8-9 win season.

I have a good friend who grew up in Asheville and he is a UNC bball fan but also a huge Tenn fball fan and he says that is very common in the western part of the state. I think we have several members of VN who are like that as well...There is no reason we can't dominate the western part of that state in recruiting especially with the UNC and the ACC in general being as weak as it is right now. We will never own Memphis but we can own Charlotte and that really is almost as good.

It really depends on the how the rest of the schedule plays out.

If we go 6-6 but it turns that Florida or Missouri were terrible this year, then yeah, not much improvement.

However, I think if we do go 6-6, then 7-6 is almost inevitable, because we'll likely be playing another Utah State/Arkansas State level team in our bowl game and should be able to wax them. The freshmen will be playing very, very well by then.

If we beat UGA the commentators and news would be all over the "UT is back quicker than expected". Would be cool but it's not realistic right now. Back to on topic Shy, McKenzie, Barnett and Vereen next year plus Obrien (starts first couple games), Mixon, Hendrix and others :rock:

Yeah, no kidding. How do you go with USC over these two teams? Seeing Driskell completely crap his pants against Bama was promising. Florida looks like a 50/50 game at home right now at worst. If we can beat one of Georgia or USC this could be a very nice season.

I expected to worry a lot more about Florida this year, but that last game was a complete disaster.

I think we have a realistic shot at 8-4, but just as realistic a shot at 5-7. I believe in CBJ & co. to get us to a minimum of 6 wins; barring any catastrophic injuries. But it's certainly not delusional to see 6 more wins on this schedule.
