They lost at home to East Carolina 55-31 last year. If that happens again - or worse - we'll have a good idea of how we would stack up with them. UNC is very slow on defense.

Larry Fedora isn't a bad coach. He's a very talented spread offensive mind. His problem is that he has the same issues at UNC that Dooley did here, except he's actually proven he can win and people seam to really like him. UNC, like us under Dooley, cant lock down their state in recruiting. Every SE SEC school and the big ACC schools are all putting straws into the recruiting pool of NC and sucking it dry leaving nothing for UNC. Fedora can coach and recruit. Don't take my word on it though, just go look at his numbers at Southern Miss. He put up the best offensive stats in his tenure their in the history of their program. He even landed a few big time prospects, one of which I believe was a 5 star WR. UNC problem is they have been caught cheating academically and finically more then once in the last 7-8 years, and everyone around them has got way better in football the last 5-6 years aka South Carolina, Clemson, FSU, etc. UNC has no chance of out recruiting any of the SEC schools or the power teams of the ACC.

Hes back into several recruits but has lost 5 big ones to decommits this class alone. He is a loor mans urban meyer in comparison to his coaching and ego. Fedora is a good offensive coach, but very poor on defense, no discipline in the program, low on character. he would not have made a bowl last year, not even close, had he of played a real schedule. same for this year.

Certainly glad we didn't. He left Southern Miss' program is horrendous shape whereas Butch left Cincinnati's (who also played much better competition than USM) program is very good shape.
