'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

I agree with this line of thinking, but those one or two kids could turn out to be a Newton, Bush, Manziel, Tebow kind of player that puts the team on their back and wins big games.

When you're able to add the amount of players we did in last years class, players who don't live up to their projection hurt the group much less.

Manziel was a 3 star out of highschool. So was cam sutton, emmanuel mosely, ethan wolf, Vic wharton, josh smith, ect... Not saying these players are elite, but it is possible to get a championship caliber team out of 3 and 4 stars.

Interesting note from Hubbs

Also, don't be surprised if you hear of Tuttle making an unofficial visit to North Carolina's campus later this month. But, it may not be what it seems. Tuttle's high school football team is scheduled, as a team, to make their way to Chapel Hill to watch a practice and while that may be classified as an unofficial visit, it's more of a team event than that.

I ran across this article on ESPN Insider. This was posted on 7/28, well before we were the leader in Crystal Ball votes on 247. ESPN loves us.

Decision coming for Tuttle

ESPN 300 No. 31 Shy Tuttle returned to the practice field late last week, and much of the chatter surrounding the Under Armour All-American defensive tackle is about when he will announce a decision. While continuing to debate an August announcement (either the 21st or 25th) before the first game of the season, Tuttle said Wednesday that a September (likely the 26th) decision prior to the first conference game is also a possibility.

When it comes to the decision, two people close to the 6-foot-3, 315-pounder's recruitment believe the decision will come down to Tennessee and North Carolina with the Volunteers currently holding a "60-40 edge".

The North Davidson staff also had positive things to say about Butch Jones and Tennessee, both in terms of the recruiting job done by the Volunteers staff and the in-person unofficial visits Tuttle and members of the North Davidson staff have been on to Knoxville.

Stuff like this makes me feel good inside. Seems like Coach Jones can make anyone a friend if they spend enough time with him.

I personally saw the job CBJ and staff did during their annual HS Coaches Clinic to welcome the North Davidson coaching staff. They were attached to their hips all weekend, and helped build the relationships needed on the staff to pull Tuttle. I think he's a Vol.

BOOM!

Surprise call in on Big Orange Radio tonight. Kahlil and Kyle Oliver were the planned interviewees. However, Tuttle also came on and announced Sept 26th as his commitment date.

Looks like we found out what Butch is getting PassedOutAwake for his 28th birthday. Butch is going to let me have fun on my birthday, and then give us a present the next day. What a swell guy
