'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

I really don't know enough to truly say if I am for this or against it. I know the NCAA has a ton of issues, though. What are your all's thoughts on this?

Bump..This should never be on the second page...24 of the last 25 CB's are for Tennessee. Looks like we may be getting a D-line like we haven't had in a while.

Go Vols!!

I thought early on we needed Settle or Tuttle but did not see how we could get one of them. I thought KMc was coming and with what we already have in the fold ( do not forget Barnett and Henderson who both really showed up at the opening last year ) I felt we could have a formidable def. line in the really near future. We may very well have the makings of the best depth we have ever had at that position. Pinch me. Is it real? CBJ is an amazing, amazing, recruiter.

12th ranked classes won't get us to the top.

I'll remind you Kiffin had a top rated class that would be reranked out of the top 50 when that class hit their jr year. I'll also add that 1 player, that may or may not ever play, could be the difference between 10 spots in ranking.
It's not about the ranking. It's what you do with the players when they get here and there is little difference between classes ranked from 5 to 15. 2 guys that don't pan out for a top 10 class mean that class isn't top 10 anymore, and it happens all the time.
Last, I'll remind you that we had 30+ signees this year and not all of them counted towards the ranking due to how sites do their rankings. Basically, 12-15 players didn't even count, which skews the entire process. I'll take a class of 30 players over a class of 15 everyday, even though the class of 15 may be ranked higher due to one or two kids.

whoa, whoa, whoa Sparty... too much sense... it makes my head hurt...please stop...(I'm reading this in my William Shatner voice)...:)

Win games with their evaluations. I'm not down on anything. Real excited about the roster turnover.

Fair point but those are coming especially with classes like last years. Consistent top 5 classes will. Have a feeling that this class will finish about the same as last year's considering it is likely we get Tuttle, hopefully Richmond and others.

I agree with this line of thinking, but those one or two kids could turn out to be a Newton, Bush, Manziel, Tebow kind of player that puts the team on their back and wins big games.

When you're able to add the amount of players we did in last years class, players who don't live up to their projection hurt the group much less.

For an on topic post, I can not wait to see our Dline with Tuttle and Kmac anchoring the middle along with the ends like Barnett.

The days of Troy getting 700+ yards of offense are over.

They most likely start out as backups also...opposing OL's will get no breaks. :yess:

We may have to start putting scout players on scholarship so we have some actually want to take reps against them.
