'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

Some nuggets from that...

1. He is still nursing a shoulder injury from last year (had surgery in off season) still at 75-80 percent.

2. He is at 310.

3. He will play nose or 3-technique at next level.

4. He lifts but doesn't eat right. He will see him as a 330-pound animal with a regimented nutritionist and workout coach.

5. He has brought a lot of exposure to his high school due to college recruiters.

6. Not a natural vocal leader.

My question:

Do any of Clemson, UNC, NC State play a 3-4???

They were also playing 3rd down for what during the interview. Yeah I know that's not the name of the song and it doesn't mean anything. I just thought it was funny.

A poster on VQ says the NC 247 mods are saying Jalen Dalton and Shy Tuttle are committing to UNC together on Sept. 26.

While I very much doubt the validity of anything said from a UNC site I would very much like to know exactly what was said.

If so that would be an attempt to sign up more insiders similar to what the Arizona site did during the Kahlil McKenzie recruitment. By all accounts, Tuttle is keeping it quiet (but somehow NC mods on 247 have the scoop? Yeah, sure they do!)...UNC fans are clinging to the belief that his mom wants him in Chapel Hill and in-state loyalty will be a factor. They also desperately want us to lose badly to Oklahoma in hope that also would dissuade Tuttle from committing to Tennessee (although that seldom plays a role)...Every 247 CB pick since July has Tuttle to Tenn with many of those being a flip from NC. CB picks are far from a scientific gauge but they seldom miss this badly (the last 27). He also exchanges tweets with McKenzie regularly....VOL.

For what it's worth, 31 of the last 32 CB picks are to Tennessee since July 11th with 15 of those 31 picks being flips from UNC to Tenn....All of the analysts I've heard of have Tuttle to the Hill.

Will be at Chapel Hill this weekend. He discussed the UNC visit with our coaches last weekend. VQ said there's "no real concern" at all from anyone on UT's side.

I think this more of a case, that our staff wants him to get all of his visits out of the way before he commits. And when he does commit, he'll be locked up.

For some reason I never feel good about someone we are going hard visiting the main team we are recruiting against. Just hope we get his commitment .

That's great news. Tuttle and McKenzie would likely be a brutal duo at DT. If we can just land Richmond and keep Williams (which I believe we will), we could end the year with three or four 5* recruits, three of which would be on the lines. The Vols will be back sooner rather than later.

Don't forget we have big Charles Mosely.. unless they move him to the O line.

Edit - I believe he stays on D..

Be apart of the best DT combo in the nation with McKenzie, or be the best player on a sucky team at UNC?

Doesn't seem so hard.

Once again....I'm glad things worked out how they did. I wanted Larry Fedora as our coach when Dooley was gone.

Much more satisfied with Butch. No way Fedora does what Butch has done. We got the coach we need. Just gotta give it time.

Shy is a Vol.
