“It was pretty amazing actually,” Lock said, a smile on his face. “The facilities were amazing, and the coaching staff was very nice. I was introduced to basically every part of the staff, from weight room to the academic staff.”

“Definitely their field,” he said, pausing for a moment. “It was breathtaking, taking the first step onto the field. Just everything that has been re-done or renovated, like the dorms where I would be staying my first two years there were phenomenal. The indoor field was great, too.”

Has offers from Louisville and Mizzou

As for some others hinting at Stidham, he's not having the season most thought he would at quarterback. This is his first at that position.

I think the Vols like some guys out in California and a guy in Missouri right now.

Must be talking about Lock. He's rated a 94 on 247 now, #4 Pro Style QB, #117 overall. And a 5.8 4star on Rivals.

He throws with volition like no high school QB I've seen before. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one of his passes. My fingers wouldn't forgive me for it.

Throwing his accord around like that prolly would hurt your hands.

Needs to work on his vision based on the tape available...stares down one receiver on every play. Nice big body though..NH.

Would love to get this kid committed to the 2015 UT class early. With his dad having played at mizzou, it will be a tough pull IMO.

Lock is good. I've seen him in camps and in games and he so rarely disappoints. Big arm, great accuracy, good build. Tries to force some throws every once in a while but that will stop as he starts playing better competition.

Mizzou is probably the leader here. His dad played for the Tigers. I don't think it's a done deal, though. Notre Dame could be close to offering as well. Mizzou is going to let him play basketball and football if he wants, so that might play a part.

If we could secure this commitment do you think we'd still go after Stidham?

I doubt the staff is looking to take 2 QB's in '15 but maybe. One thing I've learned about this staff is that they don't stop recruiting no matter what so even if a QB committed soon I'm sure they would still recruit other QB's.

Have Hubbs or Fortenberry said who they think our top target is? This kid looks good. I like Stidham and Nunez too

That is absolutely the truth about this staff. Although sounds like beating out Mizzou will take some time and effort, so not expecting anything soon on this kid.

Someone asked that question yesterday on VQ...

I know they like the Drew Lock kid out of Missouri. Bajakian was scheduled to go see him on Friday night. I think there are a couple in Texas they are looking at and the Lorenzo Nunez kid is someone that has thrown for the coaches and they continue to pursue.

I think there are a couple in Florida as well they like.

I don't think one guy has emerged as their number one target yet. That will probably come in January, February.

Thanks Ron. Anything is possible but I see this kid as a long shot. I would be more than happy with Stidham or Nunez
