That's exactly who I thought of as well. High school to college is such a bug jump that you just never know how these guys are going to turn out. I think we can all agree that this guy is ahead of almost everyone his age and appears like he will be a great player but I don't want to put the carriage before the horse.

After watching his film this kid reminds me of Jeff Luc, and like BB said earlier hes built like him too. Crazy to think this kid is a sophomore in high school.

The Luc comparisons only go as far as his build and his ability to LEVEL ball carriers.

In the limited viewing of highlight tape, I believe cherry reads plays faster. The ability of a linebacker to play fast is much more useful than being fast.

Chris Donald comes to mind. Amazing athlete who could never play fast in college.

What's an exaggerated opinion tie in to intelligence? I'm sure if there had been message boards back when Bo Jackson was in high school and a poster had suggested the same...the consensus opinion would be to withhold judgment until a full body of work was available..I know, once in a lifetime freak of nature..point being the person with that opinion has all their faculties...and would have been right...reserve your disdain for posters like rcvol and tusktimes...you'll be happier

Im not upset man lol. I just wanna know why you think it's a big deal that i think he is a once in a generation lb? I think the kid is gonna be a beast on the field for UT and yes, im hinting toward an Al Wilson type player. It's jmo brother.

JMO, this kid is probably 16 years old and some of you are suggesting that he would be on #45's level as a player....?

Crazy talk period. Will Cherry be a guy that is hell to keep off the field when he arrives? Probably so. But right now, lol no way.

The only things I worry with CC is his space tackling and pass coverage ability. Everything else looks pretty much elite for a HS kid.

Also, with offers from basically everywhere, does anyone have any idea where this guy will be ranked next year. I think I heard PFort say he would be a definite top 200 guy.

Dude looks great on film, but you can't really make judgments about his ability to play on Sundays until you see him against other SEC players week after week IMO.
