the rising junior linebacker from frostproof (fla.) high school verbally committed to tennessee on friday during his stay in knoxville, choosing the vols over scholarship offers from dozens of other major-conference programs.

Cherry, who’s widely considered one of the nation’s top rising junior linebackers, gave tennessee its fifth known commitment for the 2015 class.

The 6-foot-1, 238-pound cherry — who only had visited miami, harris said, before going to tennessee on thursday — couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Harris said cherry also holds early offers from dozens of other major programs, including alabama, auburn, florida, florida state, miami, south carolina, penn state, ohio state, nebraska, baylor, oregon, southern california and washington.

“he’s been offered by just about everybody in the country,” harris said. “everybody that has seen his film has offered him.”

cherry previously has been timed at 4.61 seconds in the 40-yard dash, harris said, and he plays middle linebacker in frostproof’s 4-3 base defense. Harris said cherry also starts at fullback on offense.

Highlights would be impressive if it was Senior film... This is SOPHOMORE FILM!!! Kid is what, 15? 15!!!! He will be playing here when he is 21 and maybe 22

First, is Frostproof where Travis Henry is from? By the looks of this guys build, this dude is gonna be the defensive version of "the cheese".

Second, just by looking at this dudes offer list, is he gonna be a 5*?

Damn, I've went from wait and see mode to sign Jones and staff to Huge contracts.If he can coach half as good as he recruits,Good lord we got a great 1!!! Oh yea,Booooooooooooooooooom!!!

I think Alvin Harper was from Frostproof. And you're right...combine those two with Bates....just daaayum!!
